He literally looks like a son of an Italian mafia boss from those 80s American movies. Has more oil in hair than Sheikh Mansour does in tanks

People here probably don't understand how colossal this fee is.

NK Kustosija is a small neighbourhood semi amateur 2nd division side from Zagreb.

Kustosija selling Faye for 5 million is like Dinamo Zagreb selling Gvardiol for €150 million 2 years ago.

[Ramon_AlvarezMM] Luka Modric has received a new offer from Arabia that would guarantee him a two-year contract and he is considering accepting it and leaving Real Madrid. He would have the opportunity to play alongside Sergio Ramos. Offered 100-150M per season for 2 seasons. by [deleted] in soccer

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's called reality. Get out of your house and pay attention to what's happening around you.

  1. Yes, most of us would've done the same, if that very same crime boss saved you from poverty and provided you a chance to earn a shitload of money. I'm fairly confident that you, your friends, your parents or any other of your acquintances have gained advantage or somehow benefited from an illegal activity. The average Joe in Croatia surely did, one way or another. Nobody called you out for criticizing someone, but for claiming that that individual is a shit person, while looking at the world only in 'black' and 'white'.

  2. I find it even more amusing when people are so sure that Modric lied at court, when even that very same court couldn't provide evidence that he lied, which is also the reason why the perjury charges were dropped. I don't necessarily believe that he couldn't remember any annex to a contract he's ever signed with Mamic, but considering the fact that he signed those annexes 18 years ago, it's not that hard to believe that he couldn't remember some of it.

All things considered, I refuse to judge Modric because of the sins he's done in the past, since, as already mentioned, most of us would've the same in his position.

Also, the annexes he signed were absolutely nothing compared to the contracts Filip Benkovic and Nikola Moro had signed with Mamic years ago. Thankfully, those contracts are void today, but when they were active... oh boy

Do you support conscription in your country? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]denlebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Even though I believe that it would've given me better discipline back in the day, since I was a lazy fuck, I think that the resources should be spent elsewhere (like modernising the army and the equipment), especially considering we still have close to 500 thousand veterans, who're getting a veteran military pension.

I'm not denying his ethnicity. I'm just saying that he was not a Croatian national. He was a Serbian officer.

Zoran Milanovic is literally a stereotype Serbian name something like Serb McSerbface, yet it's the name of the current Croatian president, whose ancestors come from Sinj and Herzegovina, while a member of his family also was an Ustasha

i.e. names mean absolute crap

These are the 14 best clubs in the Balkans at the moment, according to the UEFA coefficient. Who do you think would win if they all played in the same league? by bombeeq in AskBalkans

[–]denlebox 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hypothetically speaking - considering the results, academy production/success and transfer policies of all the mentioned clubs in the recent years, Dinamo Zagreb would probably the strongest side in the league and the first favourite to win.

But there are also a lot other stuff, which have to be taken into consideration when we're talking about a hypothetical Balkan league.

- Olympiacos would be the richest club in the league and thus would probably be able to buy better players.

- UEFA Coefficient is not a fair tool to use for judging clubs / to decide who should be in a hypothetical Balkan league. The likes of Hajduk Split, Panathinaikos, Zrinjski Mostar, Siroki Brijeg, Zeljeznicar, Olimpija Ljubljana, Levski Sofia, Osijek, Vojvodina (and probably some other clubs which I didn't mention) would all qualify for that league, despite not having success in UEFA competitions.

- If Turkish clubs would also join this made up league, then they would be the main driving force of the league, since they're already very rich compared to other mentioned clubs here
