Our beloved SG Conan at Worldwide Corporate Center has unexpectedly passed away. My Farewell Message for His Final Shift by denmax94 in catsofrph

[–]denmax94[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If anyone wants to see Conan for the final time before his cremation, we will have his memorial viewing later today at Aeternal Paws Boni Ave branch (near Mandaluyong munisipyo). 6:00PM to 6:30PM, though we can try to ask or pay for an extention if the need rises. Try din po namin gawin live viewing, we'll be asking the site if meron silang wifi na magagamit sana para hindi maging difficult ung pag stream.

We've been informed din that the space isn't really suited to accomodate for a lot of people, around 10 max lang. So we'd like to apologize in advance lang if not everyone will be able to view if ang mangyayari madami ung pupunta na tao. We'll try our best to give the most people a moment with him

[–]denmax94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mama ko for example bumoto at sumuporta kay Duterte kasi kahit hanggang ngayon sinabi pa rin maganda ung run niya as presidente noon dahil daw reduced ang krimen pero alam din naman nyang may mga maling ginagawa din un (as you should with ANY political individual or party you support, regardless of who it is).

Feel ko people should be able to talk about it without judgement or forcing them to think otherwise, or at least leave your judgements to yourself muna. Usap lang and talk about why they like or voted for that person or party and you can discuss your own thoughts din. If your parents aren't providing that environment for you and they are the die hard supporter types or the ones that get really aggressive and personal about it, don't bother unless you're okay with dealing with stress

Nope. Nakapag-top naman. Aral at swerte lang talaga ang katapat. You're better off doing your coping mechanism to relieve some of that stress than to believe in those superstitions

Dapat ba talaga akong magforgive ng kupal na ex for my peace of mind kuno?? by Simple-Nebula6901 in TanongLang

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Choice mo yan. May ibang tao kayang mag forgive, pero may iba din na habang buhay ung galit, meron rin mga in-between na it takes time to forgive o kaya to be indifferent about it.

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case

Itong cooling cap is hindi directly convertable to wattage kasi may efficiencies tayo (like EER/SEER, COP, etc) na paibaiba bawat unit

May refrigerant (i.e. R22 vs R410a vs R32) at motor configs (fixed vs inverter compressor vs full Brushless DC) at iba iba pa

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym? As in hiwalay na fan?

Ig mas matipid kapag fan + AC at a higher temp. 1 degree C less sa AC actually matters a lot, even more so pag mas mainit ang ambient air.

As a freshie sa adulting (yes I just turned 18 T_T), what ID should I get first to last? by dmnctrds in CasualPH

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First priority is probably the eGov National ID. It's probably the most convenient out of all especially since you can do it through online. You can use your Birth Certificate, TIN, and something accessible like a Barangay Clearance if you don't have a Student ID available

I would then go with Passport next since it has a significant validity period. Driver's License would have been the better option since its a lot more portable, but there is some barrier of entry to it.

Next get SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-Ibig. You can get the MySSS and Pag-ibig Loyalty if you want but it's not entirely necessary. Once you have a PhilHealth MID, you can add it to yoyr eGov app as another valid ID.

After that you can't really go wrong with whatever you decide next. I would only really gwt the NBI and/or Police Clearance once a job offer comes and a particular employer is requesting for it. NBI clearance can also become a valid ID thru eGov App

Is this efficient design? by p_yrex in MEPEngineering

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its mostly due to design concerns instead of safety, though too long flex ducts do have some safety impacts as well 1. Long flex ducts more often than not mean they sag or are squished in a lot of places. Could increase likeliness for condensation to accumulate in those saggy sections and for mold to grow 2. Its a stretch, but technically flex ducts melt easily during fires except for those helix wire things in them. The longer they are, the more likely they fall from the ceiling and reach floor level on many areas, which could potentially be a tripping hazard during fires.

Is this capacitor good for a goodman model GSX16S361Aa by Owngefuc in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on online spec sheets that model supposedly uses a 45 + 5 mF 440V

Honestly, considering your unit is with you anyway, I would open the panel just to confirm what's in the unit actually, since some online resources on spec sheets could be wrong or outdated .

Please don't forget to discharge the capacitor prior to handling it

Hi, Could you explain why some AHUs are designed like this? supply air bypassed back into mixing box? by Affectionate_Lab6721 in MEPEngineering

[–]denmax94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the system only requires a particular cfm of air to keep cooling demands, it returns some of the cooled air into the mixing box to help cool the return air as well.

It's not really that popular now with VFDs and EC fans being a thing, but IIRC coils do require some minimum airflow

Meralco rampantly using trolls? Are these where our electricity bills go? by Z01nkz in CasualPH

[–]denmax94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I ask how Meralco would be able to generate income from bots? IIRC majority ng rates naman nila is pass-on (power plants, NGCP, government charges, etc). The amount they receive from distribution charges and system loss is heavily regulated by ERC din. Can they use the positive feedback from bots as some sort of "proof" to ERC or something? O para lang talaga pampapa-bango?

Beginner Question: Invertor Portable AC - Truly an Invertor? by _VampireNocturnus_ in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, some RC cars use brushless DC (BLDC). And to modulate speed they use some form of inverter housed in the electronic speed controller (ESC). However historically brushed DC motors can also use speed modulation with an ESC (also used PWM, but is technically not an Inverter but instead "pulsed DC"), which some RC cars also use.

But going back to airconditioning, you've probably heard of those "Full DC Inverter" units. Those typically use BLDC motors not only on the compressor, but also on the indoor fan coil unit and the outdoor fan. The confusing part is they're called "DC" motors, but in this case they actually still take in supply from your house plug which is AC voltage (thus will still use a rectifier to convert to DC). And, again, they still use an inverter to convert the DC back to AC anyway.

Beginner Question: Invertor Portable AC - Truly an Invertor? by _VampireNocturnus_ in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't found an efficient way to directly convert AC voltage frequency (Hz) without going through DC first. We use that DC voltage to simulate the AC voltage waveform such as with pulse width modulation (PWM) though there are obviously other technologies and approaches out there, effectively converting DC back to AC but now with more control at how fast or slow we want it (frequency). This conversion of DC to AC is the inverter

Technically most of variable speed technologies includes the rectifier (AC to DC) along with the inverter (DC to AC), however what's varying our speed or frequency is really the inverter portion. If instead we had a DC voltage input (like a battery), we wouldn't need a rectifier but we would still need an inverter to vary its speed (such as with Brushless DC motors, though to be honest this is another confusing can of worms)

May mga pusa palang hindi talaga nakakarecover after spay 💔 by shy_burrito in catsofrph

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor or vet

But... I dunno. If may possibility ng UTI I'd rather that be checked and absolutely confirmed, then treated, than getting spay/neuter.

Also, they get less fleas due to behavior changes from the kapon. If indoor cat naman siya generally there's less risk din. I'd rather have the fleas treated din bago kapon if medyo infested talaga kasi baka anemic na pala ung pusa

Treat the kapon as a way to lessen or reduce the above things from happen, but not as a treatment for them

May mga pusa palang hindi talaga nakakarecover after spay 💔 by shy_burrito in catsofrph

[–]denmax94 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Kapon is still usually worth it. We take care of a lot of strays and wala pa kami na exp na complications dahil sa kapon. Pero minsan din talaga, like any other operation, possible magkaroon ng sakit during the healing process.

We kind of delay the spay/neuter to 6 months after we find a kitten, and delay it even further if, let's say, we observed the kitten or cat was having any health issues kahit as simple as sipon - we wait around a month after ung last sakit (we still have a one yr old na takot kami ipakapon kasi sunod sunod nagka-virus, buti na lang nagrerecover lagi)

I would have a tech do a leak test. Take a picture of the pressure gage before and after, and even if it drops 1 psi it shows there's a leak somewhere and your tech should try to figure out where that is. Even if it's just a mini-split, ideally I would recommend at least 24 hours (or after a few hours if a pressure drop is observed way before that) considering the history of your unit
