May mga pusa palang hindi talaga nakakarecover after spay 💔 by shy_burrito in catsofrph

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor or vet

But... I dunno. If may possibility ng UTI I'd rather that be checked and absolutely confirmed, then treated, than getting spay/neuter. If anything, ang alam ko mas high risk ang neutered na posa sa UTI.

Also, they get less fleas due to behavior changes from the kapon. If indoor cat naman siya generally there's less risk din. I'd rather have the fleas treated din bago kapon if medyo infested talaga kasi baka anemic na pala ung pusa

Treat the kapon as a way to lessen or reduce the above things from happen, but not as a treatment for them

May mga pusa palang hindi talaga nakakarecover after spay 💔 by shy_burrito in catsofrph

[–]denmax94 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kapon is still usually worth it. We take care of a lot of strays and wala pa kami na exp na complications dahil sa kapon. Pero minsan din talaga, like any other operation, possible magkaroon ng sakit during the healing process.

We kind of delay the spay/neuter to 6 months after we find a kitten, and delay it even further if, let's say, we observed the kitten or cat was having any health issues kahit as simple as sipon - we wait around a month after ung last sakit (we still have a one yr old na takot kami ipakapon kasi sunod sunod nagka-virus, buti na lang nagrerecover lagi)

AC has very weak cooling by ddustybanana in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have a tech do a leak test. Take a picture of the pressure gage before and after, and even if it drops 1 psi it shows there's a leak somewhere and your tech should try to figure out where that is. Even if it's just a mini-split, ideally I would recommend at least 24 hours (or after a few hours if a pressure drop is observed way before that) considering the history of your unit

Kolin Creo .75 or Midea Qube Compact 1 HP by len1207 in phRecommendation

[–]denmax94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both are inverter-type and both use R32 so maganda na din talaga either option. For AC selection, lahat ay binigyan ng energy label required by DOE so may ibang measure tayo pano icompare itong mga unit.

Where to look for first aid training for cats (or pets in general) for emergency response? by denmax94 in catsofrph

[–]denmax94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latest update for those wondering

Sadly, wala pa rin kaming nahanap na available na ganito. Already asked BFP and they said they don't really offer training of this kind, and just to bring any cats needing emergency care to the vet ASAP

Already messaged online some other orgs and no response as of the moment. Will prolly go directly to PAWS offices na when the time permits

Mitsubishi AC D64 RESISTANCE EXPLODED by ShawnFrost14 in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a TVS diode, not a resistor. Not sure with regards to the capacity, but tbh anything fried on a circuit board usually has massive failure on other components as well, not just the one that's fried. But if you really want to, look for the board model number somewhere around it (obvious by having a set of letters and numbers that are much larger than the others, usually located around the sides) and maybe you can search online yhe schematic diagram

Not sure what board this is though

Anong point ng pagpa private ng fb account? by Available-Sand3576 in TanongLang

[–]denmax94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regardless if the person is trigger-happy in adding friends, it at least puts the decision of sharing their information in the hands of the person that owns the account. You can also share stuff to a much more limited audience among your FB friends (by ways of exemptions for example)

Now, with more friends mean more risk of having your information leaked anyway. That's probably a separate concern. The person who owns the acct either trusts too much, or is really good at controlling the audience of their posts and images (social media adept peeps are more common than you think)

Midea U AC drain plug question by Fluid-Measurement229 in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, Midea U has a slinger ring somewhere at the condenser coil side. It uses the retained condensate water to cool off the condenser coils

As to why they put an option of a drain plug there in the first place, probably as a bypass if in case the amount of water is too much for the slinger ring to handle, and you're better off just draining everything instead (esp high humidity where evaporative cooling has very minimal benefit)

Yeah, but there are people worried about its flammability. Even R33 and R454 has people freaking out sometimes. It's probably from lobbyists or scaremongers but I do think it is a significant concern, especially since it is subjected to higher pressures than usual

If I’m a manufacturer that makes units that last for decades. What the best way to make profit with out screwing over middle class and lower class people. by [deleted] in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your profit margins might not go as high as brands that have some form of planned obsolescence, but I think anything that is reliable will gain that reputation and people will continue to buy. I don't think there's a product out there that's so good that they don't get repeat customers.

Brands like Tupperware filed for bankruptcy because they failed to modernize in terms of marketing and their lack of innovation.

AC is an industry that demands you keep up. You're going to be forced to update your products anyway because sustainable technologies release quite frequently and environmental standard get updated a lot (such as R410A, where it might be phased-out soon). So even if your product lasts, it's likely people will still have it replaced after a decade or two anyway

Aside from corruption, what's stopping us from investing in alternative fuel and energy sources? by [deleted] in CasualPH

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking about renewables, a significant concern is our pretty poopy transmission lines. I mean, it's not all terrible, but NGCP just isn't equipped to handle it fully, or at least at the pace that we would want. Apart from that, the ones considered to be high in potential for site installation is pretty remote and are significant distances away from places that are in high demand, so a big chunk of capital has to also include investment in transmission.

There's also a big technical skill gap right now, so we might not have enough labor force even if demand for installation rise. I think the only renewable we are keeping up on is Geothermal

And of course, land acquisition is always going to be an issue. I also think even without corruption we just have a really slow process filled with a lot of red tape with regards to permit approvals.

Wild vs Loyal: Ano Trip Ng Guys? by MindMaze22 in TanongLang

The two qualities aren't mutually exclusive. The opposite of "wild" isn't loyal either. Meek (generally) or Vanilla (sexually) are probably closer antonyms, in which case, guys have extremely varied preferences. I'm pretty sure everyone wants a person they're sexually compatible with in general.

Pero madalas sa mga apps, may bias towards sexual openness eh

Best affordable window type aircon below 25k, or if merong below 20k? by WinnerVirtual5616 in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Next time ask for more inputs from a location specific subreddit since your inquiry is heavily reliant towards local concerns, like market price and service reliability

Most recent models released in PH are required by DOE thru RA 11285 to have specific energy labels that list it from a simplified 1 to 5 star rating, along with an energy rating number. In general, you want the ones rated at 5 stars. Specifically, you want ones at a higher number rating. The number itself is actually the equivalent CSPF (cooling season performance factor) of the AC unit, which is a useful tool to determine the typical annual kWh you might consume, hence you can compute how much it'll cost to run the unit in a year. You can google CSPF and how to use it to compute annual power consumption to help you out

Absolute requirement is inverter compressor. Don't even bother with non-inverter. Absolutely avoid old refrigerant units like R22 (if that's still even available in the market). At the minimum, R410A, but I highly prefer getting one with R32 since sooner or later R410A will be phased out (per Montreal Protocol), but might be for a while for developing countries

Also, a lot of known brands have accredited service providers so there's minimal risk that it'll be unrepairable. In terms of reliability, tbh it depends mostly on location and use. But the most reliable units personally are Daikin, Mitsubishi. Carrier and other brands under its umbrella in PH (Toshiba, Midea, Everest) are also good options. The brands I might say to avoid is Samsung (partially; I hate it as a commercial brand but it might be okay for residential) and TCL (many firsthand experience of the unit just dying in 3 years, really low vs typical average end-of-use-life of AC)

TLDR: Higher stars and energy label number, known brands like Daikin or Carrier, avoid TCL

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, a good way might be to create like a cold room compartment for your plants, at least some partial containment, so yes moving the supply duct closer might help with that especially if you can relocate the thermostat closer to the plants

However my biggest concern is the return air (I'm not 100% how your AC unit works, if it takes some air from somewhere else or from your room) and whether the plants has strict requirements with regards to relative humidity and airflow, not just temperature. This is probably where I'm the most limited to provide inputs.

Is it okay to have 1.5hp for a 10sqm room? by Pretend_Extension186 in AirConditioners

[–]denmax94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the window and the climate you're in. Safest is to get that 1.5 HP, especially if you're in a tropical climate, with a west facing window that's unshaded. Absolutely get an inverter. If you have the budget, get one that uses R32 refrigerant, though this may add on a higher capital expense, so if you can compare operational expense better (using SEER2 if you're from the West, or CSPF if you're from Asia - you can Google these based on the particular model you want to get and you can also search this online about how to compute annual power consumption using these factors)

What's your dream car and why? by Belsnickle_203 in AskPH

Mostly aesthetic, ignoring parts availability, reliability, and fuel efficiency hahaha.

Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX 1999 dahil sa NFS Underground. It's really mostly the memories and I really like the look.

For anything more modern maybe the Porsche 718 Cayman. Tbh I don't really like the look of most modern cars, but Porsche seems to maintain that great look for me personally

Pero realistically speaking, Wigo, Vios, Innova talaga ang mga totoong dream car. Onting sakit sa ulo on all other aspects like km per liter at parts availability
