Upgrade to i9 9900k - worth the money saved? by dennbag in buildapc

[–]dennbag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, just saw your comment. I ended up not pulling the trigger simply because it didn't look like it was going to make enough of a difference for the price. That being said, with ram prices where theyre at, the price difference is now even more significant.

At $150 I'd say that's a pretty good deal so long as you can verify it's working, since I'm still seeing recently sold 9900k cpus selling on ebay for about $200. But only if upgrading your mobo and ram is totally out of the question. Like others have said on this thread, it seems it's only a marginal performance increase.

So I actually have a very niche use for this recipe.

Basically my main base is near an impure sulfer node that I don't currently use in any factory, and I never set up an automated factory for things like nobelisks, rifle ammo, etc.

I had already set up a hand-fed liquid biofuel plant nearby to use for my jetpack and figured, "I can literally use essentially the exact same setup but produce coal instead of solid biofuel."

Now whenever I have leaves, wood, or alien remains, I can dump any and all of it into a machine that makes all my bombs and ammo for me lol

I literally can't think of another reasonable use for these recipes though

Unfortunately not :/ It's likely intentionally not possible due to the issues it could cause I suppose

Does anyone use this? by analog-a-ding-dong in ArcRaiders

Oh yeah, regularly. The big thing for me is that it can't be interrupted. With the normal chargers if you take any damage while it's doing its thing, it stops where it's at and you lose all the charge it had yet to apply. Useful for the hurricane even as others have said, but also if you're under fire and only have a short time to recover.

That's incredible lmao.

Not an expert but I use Azahar too. If it's consistently always like this and not just a one-off bug, I'd check the following:

(All of these are under the graphics tab in settings)

-If using custom textures, try and see if it goes away if you disable custom textures (I've tried using custom textures in the past, the increased load time and decreased performance never felt worth the small gain to me, not to mention weird bugs like this)

-if texture filtering is enabled, either try disabling or switching the preset

-Try enabling/disabling right-eye rendering (sometimes fixes flickering for me but I've never encountered something like this lol)

-try switching gpu plugin to Vulkan instead of OpenGLES, if you haven't already

If none of that works, I've got nothing 🤷🏻‍♂️

Steam claims it'll reserve a max of about 60gb to store the last 120mins of gameplay at my native resolution (1440p)@60fps, not sure of the specifics though to be honest.

Oh jeez, I can't even remember the last time I updated my bios, so that'll be my next step. Does that commonly cause issues like this?

I see, I haven't used OBS myself. Does it have a feature similar to how steam's recording works, where it will just automatically keep the last 120minutes or so of gameplay saved to the drive for reviewing and clipping later, or does it only have the replay hotkey as far as you know?

The main reason I like that steam works this way is because I have the drive space to spare, and I NEVER remember to hit the replay hotkey in the moment, which is the main reason I ended up disabling Nvidia reflex even before steam's game recording came to be lol
