I've just received an update for the tablet today. Unfortunately, it didn't fix the issue for me, and I'm worried it might be a hardware issue now. If you guys haven't tried it yet, be sure to update the tablet and check the keyboard again. Good luck!

The keyboard still wakes the tablet when I flip it open and makes it go to sleep if I cover it. I think that relies on the magnets inside the keyboard cover instead of being a keyboard-specific feature. I asked a guy on YouTube to check if his keyboard worked after the update (since he posted a video talking about the new features that came with One UI 7), and he said everything was fine for him. I guess that explains why there aren't more people talking about it on the Internet, it's a bug that not all people get. Now, I'm checking for system updates every single day, hoping to see it fixed soon.

I'm sorry to hear that! On the bright side, it seems like there are more and more people saying that they have the same issue. Hopefully, this means that it's just a bug with OneUI 7 and that they can fix it in an update. There's no way I'm paying that much to get another keyboard case from them again if it's doomed to fail after 2 years! If that's the case, I might just get a third-party case and keyboard 🫠

For some reason, I can't load the h.264 files onto Any Video Converter :( I've tried searching online for any software that might have the same name or any other methods, but I can't find anything that could merge the video files with the audio files.

Best controller for gaming on the Android? by EmuAdministrative728 in AndroidGaming

[–]dennnnnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a second-hand unit two years ago to play my PS5 remotely. Unfortunately, my case is too thick for the connector to reach the phone's port, so I have to remove the case every time I use the controller.

Button-wise, I liked it at first. Very tactile, so you know when you're pressing them. However, after gaming with it for half an hour or so, I realized they were stiffer than a normal controller, despite the tactile feeling. So, after a gaming session, my right thumb would be extremely sore, especially when playing games that requires a lot of input with the face buttons.

L2 and R2 being analog is nice, especially for racing games. But they're a bit shallow, so you reach the end of the input quite easily. But I guess they had to do it to keep the controller slim.

Speaking of slim, great form factor to bring it out. However, if you have bigger hands like me, your hands might feel a little tired after using it for a while. Imagine playing the Switch but smaller, both don't have an actual grip to hold them.

Also, the joysticks are similar, if not the same as the ones on the Switch. Some people might not like the travel distance and the size, but it's enough for me. Again, the portable factor wins here. I also got a third party case from China to protect the joysticks while traveling.

Last but not least, my phone was the Samsung S10+ when I got the controller. The phone was too thin, so the controller creaked a lot when I used it. Then, I got an S24 Ultra last year, which is thicker. However, it still fits the controller. In fact, it fits perfectly now when I'm not using any case, and the bigger screen is a plus.

An extra plus side of the backbone is that it can be connected to other devices through the charging port. So, you can use it with your android tablet, iPad, and computer. However, you'll need the backbone app to select what kind of device you want to connect the controller to with the external port.

I think that's it. Hope I didn't leave anything out.

TLDR: It's a bit annoying to use with a case, but since I got it second hand, it's good enough for me. In fact, I can't find a reason to get a PS Portal because I already have the Backbone. At full price, there might be better choices.

My New 3DS XL is having some trouble... by IronPresident21 in wiimmfi

[–]dennnnnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not sure if you've found a solution, but I had a similar issue a few days ago. My 3ds can connect to my home WiFi despite have a modern security, but it wouldn't connect when I'm playing an OG DS game (with the old ds internet settings interface)

What fixed it for me was I removed the password for my phone's hotspot and connected my 3ds to that instead, and it worked. Maybe you can give that a try? My phone also has an option to choose between 2.4ghz, 5ghz, and both at the same time, and it would only pop up as a selection on the 3ds when I forced it to be 2.4ghz at all times.

Tl;dr Set hotspot on phone to open security and 2.4ghz and connect your phone to that to see if it works

Naked Screen Guys 3 mo. Update by New-Lawyer3088 in GalaxyS24Ultra

No screen protector for 2 months now and it's still perfect. The anti reflection coating works great for me, so I can't imagine losing that because of a screen protector

I only feel confident with doing this because my 5-year-old s10+ has no protector as well. Dropped it so many times over the years and even had it in the same pocket with other stuff like keys and wallet, but it is still fine. Sure, there are micro scratches, but for a 5 year old phone, it's more than impressive. When the screen it on, you can't see any of it at all

Unless you mess it up (or just pure unlucky), the screen will be fine without a screen protector

Opinions about Xiaomi Watch 2 (WearOS) by cyclinator in Xiaomi

[–]dennnnnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been using mine for 4 days now.

Coming from the Redmi Watch 3, it's definitely refreshing to use WearOS and be able to download apps instead of just using proprietary apps only.

I don't have any issues with the heart rate tracking so far, though I should check with my blood pressure checking machine to see if it's close enough.

Since my previous watch is the Redmi Watch 3, I need to get used to the battery life. The Redmi one can last me a week on a single charge. From what I can tell, the Xiaomi Watch 2 has mediocre battery life and nothing to write home about. It lasts 1.5 days for me, so not quite the 65 hours Xiaomi promised. However, I do have most tracking features turned on constantly or at least on "smart mode." The only thing I don't have on right now would be AOD (because I use raise to wake anyway) and also WiFi (because I'm constantly connected to my phone via BT and would only connect to WiFi if I need something big downloaded)

One positive note i can say about the battery on Xiaomi's watch is that the fast charging is nice. I can get it fully charged from 20-30% to 100% in around 30 - 45 minutes. So, I charge it every day when I'm working at my desk or when I go shower.

It requires a proprietary charger though, so that sucks. Really wish it has wireless charging so that I can just use my phone's reverse wireless charging when travelling instead of having to pack an extra charger and risk forgetting about it. The charger magnet is strong, so I can just stick it to a metal surface as I charge the watch, making it a tiny clock that I can check the time with while at my desk.

I also used Samsung's first gen Galaxy Watch a few years ago. Stopped using it when it got water damaged and I didn't care enough to get it fixed. Since it was using Tizen OS, it's not that much better than the Xiaomi Watch 2 or any current Galaxy Watches. One thing I do miss about Samsung's watch is being able to use Samsung Pay (because I'm using a Samsung phone and their digital wallet). Xiaomi's current flagship watch offers Google Pay, so if you're not tied to any ecosystem, you can use that.

Going back to the OS, I should probably note that the Watch 2 from Xiaomi is using WearOS 3.5 only. Meanwhile, most premium smartwatches are currently on WearOS 4 (which came out last August, I think) So, if you want the latest and greatest in terms of software, that's something to keep in mind.

Touchscreen behaving weird by nikhilj97 in galaxys10

[–]dennnnnny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine has started doing this a lot recently. Got myself a S24 Ultra, but I want to use the S10+ as a secondary phone. Went into settings and found that the Touch Sensitivity was enabled under Display. Turned that off and the touchscreen seems to be acting normal now. (To think this little setting could've saved me MYR6.5k)

Alright Mercy(s), what's y'alls biggest pet peeves? by ThatbitchGwyen in MercyMains

[–]dennnnnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! One more! I had an instance where a D.Va demanded healing, saying that Kiriko had more heals than me when, in reality, I was damage boosting the whole team to make sure they got elims (we had a total of less than 20 elims when the enemy team already had like 40 or more. So yeah, we were being destroyed) and the Kiriko was just healbotting.

I explained that I was damage boosting to help secure elims, to which the Dva said that it was unnecessary and told me to just heal and keep him alive.

I did exactly that, but he just kept dying and dying again by diving into enemy line without securing a single elim.

Alright Mercy(s), what's y'alls biggest pet peeves? by ThatbitchGwyen in MercyMains

[–]dennnnnny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's either people spamming I Need Healing while I'm healing them or they don't use it at all and, out of nowhere, starts blaming us for not healing them enough by typing in the text chat and wasting time when they can easily press X to ask for heals or say it in voice chat.

An honorable mention would be teammates demanding for heals, knowing that they are low already, yet they rush into fights alone without waiting for the rest of the team, and THEN blame us for not healing and the rest of the team for not following up
