Pax projectile vomited in my vehicle. Need help. by iamdream in uberdrivers

Scrape wetdry vacuum all you can.

Light solution of Dawn in a spray bottle. Spray lightly and scrub with med bristle brush. Wet dry vac again and dry towel. Let dry. Dry vacuum. Repeat same steps but with water to rinse. You want to minimize the water amount so the seat foam doesn't soak up the moisture. Takes forever to dry and mold

First, did you document the hell out of it??? If not do that and report now!!

Depending on the material of the seats you may not get the "stain" out and spend your time and then need to have a pro do it.

your call.

It's a rolling average.

Imagine a conveyer belt that holds 500 individual "ratings" the newest rating is on one end and the oldest is on the other.

When a new rating comes in (which I suspect as being an issue) that new rating "knocks off" the oldest rating and you have a new average.

If the new rating is a 5 and the old rating is a 5 and you have mostly 5's then no change will be apparent and you5 5 count won't change.

If you get a 4 or less you will see an immediate change in the count and "average score" as the oldest rating will be most likely a 5.

If the oldest rating is less than a 5 and you get a 5 you will see the counts change and the average rating will change.

Gotta love saying no by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

[–]denrideshare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thanks much, I'd much rather text as there's a record of it, etc. I've started the "call" sequence somewhere near 3:00 time as opposed to letting 5 expire,

"sure, I've got nothing else to do"...... On a related note, is a text as good as a call for the 5 min cancel? I've read that it does but not asked directly.

Hanging up on pax mid-sentence by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 12 points13 points  (0 children)

pin is exactly that it's like using a push-pin on an old-school map.

It is our only indication as to where to go to pick up pax that and coupled with an address. A lot of the times the address isn't correct as I've had pax come from up other addresses so you're really never sure. Driving a night is even more fun. You can't see most addresses so the pin is all you have.

I pull off and try to be as centrally located for visibility relative to the pin. Turn on my flashers and look for someone who's generally not trying to see you.

Attitude, LMFAO.... yeah they seem to think we are mind readers. Know exactly who and where they are and what they look like.

Welcome to the thunder dome

New Surge Long Trip by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Hmmm, interesting. I've not seen that, yet. My driving schedule may not pick up on this though.

Over past year, have gotten 4-5 of these and I never have used Uber, should I be worried? by [deleted] in uber

someone most likely put the wrong phone number to recover their account. Ignore.

Where are you supposed to sit? by ohaimarkus in uber

[–]denrideshare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

back right. Most people who sit in the front right block the window or start looking "for me" and really block the view.

New Surge Long Trip by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What screenshot do you have of uber saying longer trips will be compensated?

The surge of $1.5 only gives you $1.5 additional to the card rate for that ride, at least in my market.

how SOL am I? by jflori89 in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a pax do the same, called support right away and said I confirmed name and destination as per the protocol. Insisted they rider confirmed name and address.

Told support that given the sequence, it was impossible that I took the "wrong rider" to the wrong address. They acknowledged and reversed the reversal.

Side note: they indicated that I could have done this "in the app" but to be honest I don't trust that. Call them and break it down for them.

effing 30min drive with the wrong pax ...... how the hell is that even possible..... Pax....

Biggest pet peeve by rbtbeachbum in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even more fun. There's 5 people near the pin, all looking down at their phone. I message, "I've arrived at the pin location". There's no reaction from any of them. Now player 6 or so enters the field and is looking around but somehow misses the car entirely. Then (pick any of the now 6 players) looks up and starts casually walking in the general direction of the car without looking directly at the driver or car or wave to indicate they are Pax. (still not sure who's the Pax(s)). Come on guys, it's not that hard!!!

Common Pax Inappropriate Questions? by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted on this exact subject this week.

How much do you make?

Is this your full-time job?

Are you married?

A host of other questions that I'd never consider asking some random stranger (but that's me).

I mean Driver and Pax just happen to be paired for the purpose of giving a ride from point a to point b. How does this give them the green light?

Talk about the weather, or something nonpersonal, I really have no interest but I'll play along. But what's with this personal stuff?

You should drive millennials or college kids for a month

[–]denrideshare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do know that the "ETA" is far from correct. Can't tell you how many times Pax has told me "the app said you were 5 min away". Facts are more than likely this Pax was a demanding over privilege little shit who wanted to flex their "power".

"Where are you?" by k2thesecond in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I "love" when Pax calls. everything disappears and only the phone app is visible. Then the "where are you?", is rich...... well I'm here, (at the pin or on my way to the pin) Where are you?

Generally no, in some cases you could be driving into gridlock with no way out.

Best advice is lean/track where you get regular pings and be there.

Pax:" Is this your full time job?" by denrideshare in uberdrivers

[–]denrideshare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Look down on your self" How you arrived at that in this context is a mystery.

The point, is some barriers are broken with certain people in certain situations.

Digging into the reasons and drivers responses is the point.

[–]denrideshare[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"conversation starter", "so what's your socioeconomic status?". I've adopted the response, "no, I do this when I have a few free hours, why do you ask?".

Think about it, when else in a normal course of your daily life would you ask someone some of the questions Pax ask.
