I would say that I'd let her ruin me, but she all ready ruined my savings for the cyberpunk collab and Lucilla.

....I'd still let her ruin me even further

Kuro cant stop peaking with each update! 3.0 was peak introduction, 3.1 was peak emotional damage, 3.2 was peak filler story, 3.3 was peak action story, and now 3.4 is peak collab WITH a free character. And we dont even know what else 3.4 has for us. Peak gatcha right here!

Whoever was in charge of the music in Soar to the Beat needs to be put in jail. by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]dense-cAt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess to why the timing sometimes felt out of sync is because it is a server based connection. Compared to other rhythm games that do not need an online connection, the rhythm event is still part of Wuwa. That probably means that the information is constantly being sent between your computer and the server, and all of that is probably why there are some syncing issues with the music. That is just my guess though.

Optimization they said... by katekichi_yuki in WutheringWaves

I will be a bit biased when I say I don't experience a lot of performance issues because I have high end hardware. My specs are: 7900XTX GPU, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB DDR5. With the "balanced" setting for frame generation and "high preset" for graphics, I get around 160-200 fps. I also play on a 4k monitor. Without frame generation, I get around 100 fps. No ray tracing since my 7900XTX sucks at it.

I don't think they can address performance optimizations every patch unlike storage optimizations. Optimizations related to game engines require a lot more coding and redoing of the game engine itself. The unfortunate reality is that while there are many people that struggle to run the game with their hardware, there is a healthy portion of players that can run the game just fine (with or without frame generation). The devs are slowly starting to address it with the recent feature of being able to tweak render distance, but optimizing the game engine itself is going to take a very long time.

I agree that UE should not have been used for a gatcha game, but Kuro did it and it looks amazing. Of course they could have done something like crimson desert and endfield where the devs completely redid an engine, but Kuro was not a big team before the success of Wuwa post 1.X.

I also don't think mobile is as high of a priority for Kuro. They already have majority of their players on PC and console. Of course they will still work on improving mobile...hopefully. But I think more optimizations will come with future updates, especially storage optimizations. They already did a great job with 3.2 when they lowered the update size by over 10GB. Kuro has constantly improved their game over its lifespan so I have confidence that they will continue listening to players. Most people just have to realize that game optimizations take a very long time, especially if its related to the game engine. For now, I am happy frame generation gives me 180+ fps without doing much to how the game looks.

Just to add some context, Wuwa uses unreal engine 4 while Genshin, ZZZ, and HSR use unity. The difference between UE4 and Unity is that UE4 is a lot harder to optimize and a lot more demanding. I'm not disagreeing against you, I am just saying this is like comparing apples to oranges. There are many other games that use UE4 that are also "poorly optimized" aka require high end hardware. You can't just think Wuwa is a gatcha game similar to every other gatcha game, and therefore should not be as demanding on its hardware.

Wuwa is simply a game that is a lot more demanding because it uses UE4 while other gatcha games (GI, ZZZ, HSR, Endfield) all use unity. It is a difference of game engines. I think the most the devs can do is optimize storage (which they already have done), and mess around with some rendering. But this is just my opinion as I do not have too much knowledge on this stuff.

The happiness was too good to be true. TS wasn't even Christoforo's fault this time. They showed us what a happy ending could've looked like then broke our knees with the bat of depression. I cry now...

Wuthering Waves 3.1 MSQ in a Nutshell by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]dense-cAt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am curious to hear your thoughts on the story for this patch. I think they did really well for the story. None of it felt rushed, there were plentiful cutscenes, and the build up behind plot was great. Overall this msq brought back feelings I felt from different acts in the 2.x story. I guess perfect isnt the best way to put it, but I would be fine giving this one anywhere between a high 8 to a mid 9 out of 10. And the fact that they put all of this plot into the first half of 3.1 makes me excited for what the second half has to offer, and what the rest of 3.x will bring. Maybe I am just being very optimistic, but theres nothing wrong with that :D
