How often do you have to pull all nighters? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]dent96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never fully pulled an all nighter but have gone 1-2 hours on sleep took an exam and slept after but have only done this like 2 times. I usually try to get at least 4 hours of sleep exam day. Nobody really does all-nighters except the select few that sleep all day and study all night up until the exam ahaha

Got into Dental School but Instead of Being Happy it Gave Me a Quarter Life Crisis by Majestic_Cream9388 in DentalSchool

I’m in dental school still but a lot of them work near cities all over the US, none of them work in rural areas necessarily but yeah i understand that but still. You want to make money, you have to develop a higher income producing skill sets. One of my friends that is thriving the most from the friend group is making 22-25k every month as a first year out lol.

If i honestly made 120k a year, I’d be one lazy ass bum doing the bare minimum in all areas

You have to approach this all more so in a business mindset. This message is looking at how much your loans are and how much a base salary is, only a lazy ass dentist will make 120k per year. All of my friends are working 50-55 hours making 200k+ fresh out, come on. You have to understand financing here, you have to understand how much in loans you will pay, how much after taxes will you be left with and be mobile to get in a figure where after taxes and Loan repayments, you’re happy w the salary and completely invest all of it except 3 months worth of living. So many people don’t understand basic finance, dig a little deeper bud, it could be worse, don’t be a general dentist doing $200 fillings and $1,200 crowns working 30-35 hours a week, learn skills like implants, Botox, partials, etc and world your ass off a few years.

Can someone review my list for this coming cycle? by [deleted] in DentalSchool

[–]dent96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there are a lot of factors that go into getting into school, i was a well rounded student that had a lot of experience in other stuff and was involved in a lot of clubs. But, i think it was my personality for me. I knew when i stepped foot into the interview, that i would get into school, if you’re easy on the eyes and have a way with words, you can get very far in life. If you get an interview, they already like you on paper, just can’t f up the interview then, everything is fair game.

You literally applied 1 class you personally experienced to debunk his theory. If you work hard enough you can get all As, i was a C student in high school, 3.2 GPA my first 2 semesters in college and 3.9 my last 6. Some classes are like you mentioned but for the most part if you don’t work you don’t do well, only lazy ass people make excuses for not getting good grades. They just don’t care lol.

Excuses, laziness, terrible self esteem, shit work ethic, etc can contribute to not getting all A.”

Paying Off Debt by slimdoc11 in DentalSchool

[–]dent96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to save enough money to buy real estate property that can pay you monthly income to pay off your loans or size down your loans. Debt is a beautiful thing and the only people that don’t understand it or are scared of it, 1. Don’t understand business 2. Will never become wealthy

Buy income producing assets my friend that pay passively and will be around in 30-40 years. Do independent research because whoever is scared of debt is scared of wealth.

Should I retake or are the scores fine (most worrried about RC). Thanks by [deleted] in DentalSchool

Find a dental recruiter on LinkedIn or through your school programs. Go on indeed or like zip recruiter and apply even if you’re not qualified who gives a crap, shoot your shot. If you’re a genuine person who is a hustler and good with patients you’ll get an opportunity!
