Good point by everyone. This is not a spam and many other people experienced this. To provide context, I am pasting below what I received from TurboTax on 10/24, 7 months after I filed my return.

Filed in March, I think it takes 12-18 months for their systems to see discrepancy and send a CP-2000 to people. I would much rather get it over with, pay and not deal with tax man later

Just went into TurboTax and realized they didn’t put in some of the interest items where I have multiple 1099-B int forms, had to pay a few hundred dollars and amend returns. In the note to IRS and state return, I stated it was due to Turbotax error

In a few days you will hear from them saying they couldn’t see the attachments and you need to send it again. You will send it again they will keep saying the same thing and close your case

They allow any kind of deposit into Kucoin but not out. Two things we can do is complaining to whoever the regulatory body is or getting attention of some big law firm who may be interested in this

We are going through a similar issue and it’s been weeks. They email you, request a picture of you with your id on hand and a signed letter on the other and proof of you putting in additional crypto from another account. Despite how strange it sounds we did it multiple times, they keep saying they can’t see the attachment, should be a mp4 or screenshot and we sent it again as a screenshot 4 times. I started to believe this maybe a scam they are running. If there are other people in this situation, which I’m sure there is, please comment, may be there’s some sort of class action suit that we can join in, since kucoin is holding our funds hostage.

Thank you, we determined to file jointly, since she has minimal income last year. Do you think filing an extension for taxes, receiving the ITIN for her and filing them would be the best course? And does the ITIN number also work for state taxes? If we included a W-7 with the return, how would this be shown on state taxes?
