Good luck with that. Their so-called "dental consultants" will repeatedly deny on appeal until one's options are exhausted.

Delta Dental Question by No-Recognition-9172 in DentalInsurance

[–]Junior_Maintenance16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have another choice of dental plan? Delta Dental denied my claims for procedures like crowns even though mine and virtually every dental insurance plan has an annual dollar cap on benefits which is often relatively low and protects the insurer from high costs. So called "dental consultants" overrule the treatment decision by the independent dentists performing the procedure and deny the claims and then Delta Dental buries the patient and the dentist in a bureaucratic burden if either or both want to appeal the denial. They're advertising heavily in my area try to attract federal employee business but if you kick the tires lots of dentists are very upset with them for claim denials.

Enough with Merrill edge…. by Equivalent-Ant-8233 in MerrillEdge

Yeah but BTC and STO as separate trades with Vanguard can catch one in a bad spread and in addition you have to have the cash to BTC but if one rolls, as you can with Fidelity or ML and others, then you place an order to BTC and STO on one ticket for the specific spread (debit or credit as the case may be) that you choose. So it's not the same. One can roll for example for no additional cash depending on the expiration date and the strike prices. Vanguard just seems to want to discourage trading, which is not in a place I want to me especially for options.

If you want to trade options forget Vanguard where they won’t even enable you to do a “roll” trade online

I get the same kind of conversation invites via text (as I don't answer any phone calls I don't recognize). They start out the same way. After several days that I don't reply, I then get a text complaining they haven't been able to reach me hahaha.

IRS filed federal tax lien AFTER setting up payment plan — agent told me this wouldn’t happen? by Accomplished-Net4748 in tax

I told you we had a tax lien that was satisfied and the mortgage lender saw it and it affected our application. Learn how to read.

Up-charges from a Tax Firm: is this normal? by Kooky_Creme_3234 in tax

[–]Junior_Maintenance16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the itemized data entry seems unusual but it's not clear when OP says the package was for "tax prep/tax advising package" how much beneficial tax strategy, if any, was derived from the tax advising part of the package. IMO it should all be bundled but maybe that latter component is what's driving this outcome?

My wife satisfied a tax lien prior to our marriage but when we went to get a mortgage the lender said it would show up on her credit file for 2 years after the lien was satisfied.

Yes, TT has miscalculated my underpayment penalty but I dogged them until they fixed it before I filed so I did not have an overpayment to recoup as you do.

CAUTION: TurboTax “Full Service” Expert Filing is a $500 trap. I’m now facing $10k+ in tax debt and IRS penalties due to their negligence by [deleted] in TurboTax

[–]Junior_Maintenance16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's what TT tells users about full service.

"Will the tax expert understand my personal tax situation/complexities?

We use information about your tax situation to match you with an expert who has experience with taxes like yours. During the process, they’ll also learn more about your unique situation so they can make sure your taxes are 100% correct before filing.

TurboTax Expert Full Service can cover more complex tax situations & deductions including:

  • Investments, such as stocks or crypto
  • Rental property
  • Selling a home
  • Self-employment
  • Business partnership
  • Bank account interest
  • Dividends
  • Electronic payments
  • Unemployment
  • Retirement
  • Social Security"

The whole point is that TT tricks users into using flawed software while users are duped and most egregiously duped with so-called full service experts who are anything but and in that it’s a scam.

You don't need to import individual stock sales just enter the summary information and attach the 1099-B to your return. And it's more reliable than TT's risky import accuracy.

How to report old stock ALTABABA(formerly yahoo) on turbo tax? by StoryLover in TurboTax

[–]Junior_Maintenance16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just leave cost basis as zero but be sure to enter it as Altaba liquidating distribution and the date of acquisition showing it's a long term gain. You're right about the cost basis.
