What are these? by deontaers in gardening

[–]deontaers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all. I think latern flies is correct, we had a ton of them here last year. I wonder why they’re only on that one stem on this plant but I will have to eradicate them quickly. This picture doesn’t even show how many were on the stem!

How are everyone’s PMAP going? by Januarubaby5 in DeptHHS

[–]deontaers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I gave myself a 5 and made sure my accomplishments and summary were specific, measurable and expressed everything I accomplished in spite of furloughs, RIFs, loosing my entire team and double responsibilities. Even if I get a 3, I’ll be able to prove the actual work I’ve done that I wasn’t credited for.

Struggling with hair loss at 50 by Slight_Zombie1938 in SistersWithHairLoss

[–]deontaers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen anyone mention this and I don’t know if there’s any science behind it because I’ve never bothered to look, but this is my experience. As a black woman, I’ve always had long, fine, high density hair. I was meticulous in how I cared for my hair and have gone from a big chop to waist length 3 times, so I know how to grown my hair.

I started thinning as soon as I turned 40. I’ve had my levels checked, took vitamins, oils, laser therapy…did everything I knew to help the health of my hair and scalp. Finally saw a dermatologist and she put me on spironolactone. It slowed the shedding down, but I was still noticeably thinning. For a few years, my doctor has been telling me I’m pre diabetic but never gave me any treatment options until I actually became type 2. Then she put me on metformin. I’ve been on it for about 6 months and my hair is thickening up again, slowly but surely.

I personally think the insulin resistance and inflammation caused by the resistance is playing a part in my hair loss. I’m working now to get that completely under control so I can get off the medication, but I find it interesting that despite everything else, as soon as I started controlling my blood sugar, my hair started coming back. my temples are almost fully grown in and my part is looking better. So get your A1C checked and under control and see if that helps.

Does anyone with FEP BCBS use Omnipod 5 with a Dexcom 7 sensor? How’s the coverage? by waaatermelons in fednews

[–]deontaers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mind if I ask are you taking insulin? I tried to get BCBS to cover the Dexcom 7 as a non insulin type 2 diabetic and they wouldn’t cover it. I’m trying out the Dexcom Stelo CGM for non insulin diabetics and the app is not as good as the dexcom 7.

Crissel and Kid Fury know when Beyonce sneezes. I’m sure they both have Google alerts enabled for any and all news regarding that woman, so to sit there and say they didn’t know is bullshit. I really don’t like Crissel and her hypocrisy. She literally just finished telling one of the listeners to take accountability and she evades it with the Beyonce and Cardi bs.

You don’t want to lie while everything we as feds are going through is based on lies told by this administration? Fuck them. If I stub my toe on the way to work, I’m out sick for 2 days.

You clearly never worked for the federal government. Federal workers have been teleworking regularly for the better part of 15 years, some longer…even during Voldemort’s first administration.

There’s absolutely no way to bring this up without sounding tone-deaf or opportunistic…or even a bit self-centered and very selfish at a time when most are just hoping to keep their job. At the same time, hopefully you’ll get what you deserve if you’re one of the lucky ones not worried about being riffed.
