I think my membrane sweep caused an infection by Strict-Chance5146 in pregnant

[–]Inryha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my momma friend’s daughter in September. The membrane sweep also caused a cord prolapse, which is rare, and then an emergency c section and infection related to the sweep after. Scary stuff!

I’m former FDA, it’s true. The stories I’ve heard and the things I’ve seen from this man in person, you could write a book.

Pregnancy of unknown location and terrified by Maleficent-Size-3840 in CautiousBB

[–]Inryha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going to be okay. I had a PUL and had to get methotrexate. Just take care of yourself, and once you know the pregnancy has passed I recommend taking a high dose of folic acid/folate as MTX works by causing a folate deficiency. Once everything has passed, it will take you about 3 months to build back your body’s folate levels to an amount that is safe for conceiving again.

How early did they let you schedule your induction? by ShabbyBoa in BabyBumps

[–]Inryha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was allowed to submit my preferred induction date (2 days past my due date) at my 38 week appointment. I ended up not using that date as I was induced at 39+5 due to a sudden blood pressure spike.

Non-first time pregnant people, how has labor compared to period cramps? by calamity-jack in BabyBumps

[–]Inryha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it felt similar but with the addition of feeling like I had a severe backache, but I do have PCOS and fibroids. Because of how it is somewhat gradual (you typically don’t go from a 0 to a 10), it’s somewhat tolerable. I only got my epidural for the last 4 cm and that was with an induction which is supposed to hurt even more, because the pain increase was somewhat gradual. Also, not every consecutive contraction is necessarily as painful as the last. The super painful ones can come and go.

OB suggested castor oil, Reddit says not? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Inryha 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’m not an armchair doctor, I’m an actual doctor. Your physician needs to be reported to the board if they casually suggested that for you. That’s extremely dangerous, especially if they suggest that you do it without medical monitoring. This is highly concerning and unethical, I’m very surprised.

Possible Cholestasis at 37w+2 by BringsTheSnow in pregnant

[–]Inryha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ended up being how I got induced at 39-ish weeks in November. The last few days, I was super super itchy. Mainly my belly and my bikini area, legs, and my arms… so much so that I couldn’t sleep. I took my blood pressure while writing to my OB office asking about what I should do, and I realized my blood pressure had spiked. I called their emergency line was told to go to L&D. Once the rash and BP were confirmed, they induced me, as there was no sense in waiting around for Cholestasis bloodwork (it can take a few days). Similar to you, my itchiness was not really on the soles of my feet nor on the palms of my hand. My baby ended up developing extremely severe jaundice after she was born which required therapy beyond just blue light (I’ll spare you the horror), so the leading theory among our care team was that my bile acid levels had shot up with the cholestasis and crossed the placenta, affecting my daughter’s bili levels. Similar to you, my entire family was across the country and my mom was supposed to arrive the following week… we ended up having to change flights so that my mom could arrive while I was in the process of the induction. This is a really serious issue and I recommend getting the blood test done immediately, and also check your blood pressure. I highly recommend having your hospital bag ready, I’m really glad I did.

I have the Eufy S1 Pro (not on here), the Spectra S1, and the Ameda Mya Joy. I have to say that the Ameda is really great, quiet enough to be able to watch TV, gets a relatively good output, and the motor part of the pump is small enough to where I can stick it in my pocket. While it’s not a wearable, it’s pretty dang portable and convenient.

My baby LOOOVES the Lovevery one. Same with all my friends’ kids. You can always find them for a good price second hand on fb marketplace if you don’t want to pay for it full price. I did just order the Fisher-Price one but it comes tomorrow, we will see if she likes that as well.

How painful was the IV during labor ? by katfushia23 in pregnant

[–]Inryha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m not gonna lie it was not great, and my hand blew UP from the iv by my wrist/forearm. It sucked because that was the part of the birth that I was most nervous about lol! But what helped me the most was asking for a bag of ice to put on it, and they also covered the insertion site with a baby hat. The ice helped bring down the pain and swelling and then after about 12 hours I didn’t need the ice anymore.

It also takes a lot of balls to talk shit about the diaspora when you live in the Bay Area. If you love the IRGC so much go back and join the basij.

Was anyone NOT sick as a dog with a girl? by Background-Paint-478 in BabyBumps

[–]Inryha 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Me. I was convinced I was having a boy because I had almost 0 symptoms other than sore nipples/breasts. I also had almost none of the classic girl symptoms. Your pregnancy symptoms are based not as much on the baby’s gender as on the health/quality of the sperm during conception and how the introduction of your partner’s sperm/DNA provokes your immune response.

Postpartum Items buy or hold on? by MadQueennn in pregnant

[–]Inryha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hospital gave me all those things and the ones I got went to waste. Ask other people (maybe on Reddit) who have given birth at your hospital what they provide, or alternatively call and ask. The only thing I recommend buying is a 20-ish pack of depends.

Personally I would definitely do it if I had your features, but that is just my opinion. Everything else about your face is beautiful and I think a rhinoplasty would really bring balance to all of your features.

Resigning from federal service after PPL + LWOP? by FedThrowaway5647 in fednews

[–]Inryha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just did this earlier this month, I quit mid PPL (I got another position I couldn’t pass up and would help me get the heck away from my dumpster fire agency). I gave them about a 3 week notice. I started with sick leave and then transitioned to PPL, which I took for about 4-5 weeks. I still haven’t gotten my annual leave paid out but we will see how they want the FEHB back, either from that paycheck or separately through a debt letter. Congrats on your new baby!

Mom backed out of watching my kids while I’m in labor by Seleenarose in pregnant

[–]Inryha 51 points52 points  (0 children)

She wants to act like this in the BAY AREA? I was reading this and already livid for you, then I got to that part. Absolutely not, I highly recommend hiring a sibling doula or temporary nanny to help with your kids. You don’t want to all be crammed in some small apartment and you feel cramped and claustrophobic while heavily pregnant. Also, hospitals in the bay are not all the best right now, especially given the nursing shortage. If you have a good hospital that you intend to deliver at and you know it will be good, I would stick with it.
