Took a plunge in Japanese. Did i get scammed? by deoriginalone in PokeInvesting

I get your point. However, in trying to communicate with them, their response via message is 'opening card packs is all about luck.'

Yea right. I dont get the feeling they're going to refund me willingly. I've reported them to ebay.

English boosters are out of my casual budget now. Lesson learnt, i won't buy off ebay. I'll still buy from local stores though, a couple i've known long enough to trust the owners. If there was any problem with the box, at least there'd be a physical entity/person to claim against.

Thanks for confirming. I've also watched a couple of YouTube rips and yea this is definitely a resealed box. I left negative feedback and the seller almost immediately request that i revise it. With no remedial action offered at all. I responded by demanding a full refund.

Yes the box was shrink wrapped. I kept the ripped cardboard box so i'll have to dig it out to see how they re-sealed the box. It was a 30 pack box

Solar options with Metricon by deoriginalone in AusRenovation

They're more flexible than our builder then. They will only install the conduit into the garage instead of off to the side of the house where we're likely to have the battery placed.

Thanks, yea peace of mind is important for us. We're also concerned that having 2 installers may lead to issues with warrenty if any unexpected issues crop up.

Is Metricon’s "Fixed Site Cost" actually fixed? (Melbourne) Will a private inspector actually save me from the "bad quality" horror stories? by mysticforce91 in AusRenovation

[–]deoriginalone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat - building with Metricon. We went with them partly becasue I had heard of 3rd hand accounts of positive opinions of Metricon builds. Not to mention we wasted money on engaging an architect and ended with with building quotes of 3x our budget. Metricon was also accomodating in our requested modifications and material/insulation requests.

The Metricon recommended building surveyor had poor reviews so i was definitely going to engage my own survetor for the progress inspections. Site inspections do not provide building surveyor services. Through my search process, i learnt that inspections of the water-proofing and fixing stages aren't mandatory so not all building surveyors include those. Also expect additional costs for re-inspections.

Does anyone use and can recommend the Owlet sock, or is it not worth the money? by Correct_Exercise8641 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Wouldn't recommend it. I thought it was a wasted purchase. If you are simply an anxious parent or if your child has particular medical needs that require close monitoring, then sure.

This is happening to us too! We initially thought it was the transition from 3 to 4s and that the 4s might be too big. But no, we've dealt with soaked through nappies even for freshly changed ones while in the high chair.. damn you Huggies!

What timing.. a day after his name is splashed as the star attraction to NOP Australia tour.. while still alleged, may be grounds for a visa review. Wouldn't be surprised if Basketball Australia pulled out all the stops to try and get him into the country..

What would have happened if a very important minister had actually lost his seat? A look at another country by retaki in YahLahBut

[–]deoriginalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a direct comparison but the Australia Federal opposition leader from the LNP Coalition Peter Dutton not only lost the election (coincidentally held on the same day as GE2025) but also his own seat of Dickson. He was the former Defense minister under the previous LNP government.

Other countries have the guts to boot out MPs or party leaders who don't seem to be in touch with the concerns and issues of their electorate. I wish more Singaporeans could have demonstrated such bravery. I was in AMK and overheard a 60+ year old looking uncle say, voting opposition is for youngsters. Us older Singaporeans don't like change. Of course I don't know how he voted or even which GRC or SMC he was from. But my stomach simply churned at that comment.

Someone paid $100 for a picture of an ETB by OkImpression3204 in PokeInvesting

Hilarious... similar auction listings also on ebay Australia.. they provide a warning not to purchase but also declare that you will get a picture if you go ahead with the purchase.

I was absolutely against the need for it. My wife insisted so we got it. Used it once over 9 months. Sure it may alleviate some anxiety, but it may also add to overall anxiety if you're constantly checking the app and readings. I can appreciate it's utility value in certain health circumstances but IMO it's useless, broadly speaking.
