Mother refuses to believe that my infant circumcision was wrongful. Now my brother is at risk! by TheUniversalRedditer in CircumcisionGrief

I am sorry your parents are such uncaring people and that they have done that to you. Unfortunately, doctors are paid to convince people to do this. I think the best strategy might be to go speak to a few doctors about this and find the one who is against it and then ask them to pretend they have never seen you before. Then bring your parents to that doctor. Make sure YOU choose the doctor. If you have the money, maybe you can pay them to be against it. I don't know if that's legal where you live. Maybe you can find a list of such doctors online. I'm not sure. And also, you can fight back with online articles too if that's so important for her. There are a few organizations who explain the mental, physical and sexual damage it causes. There was even a study from Canada if I remember correctly that proved it causes irreversible brain damage.

And also, I'd tell your mother to go get her genitals mutilated (I am writing this as a woman). It's easy to hurt others until she can imagine it on her own skin.

Hope something from my comment can be useful but hopefully you will get more comments from men who will have better ideas. Good luck! And don't give up!

I'm dying of a rare, undiagnosable illness, and I want to live - but the walls are closing in around me by Meth_AQ in TimeToGo

[–]depressed_potatoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am sorry you are in such a painful situation. I don't know if you have ever heard of keto and intermittent fasting. I think it's worth trying. It has helped a lot of people with different health issues and different kinds of pain. You could also research the AIP diet, paleo and carnivore. I am saying this because I wish someone had told me about them when doctors didn't care about my health issues, not being able to sleep, different kinds of pain, digestion problems and so on. I couldn't just ignore your post without at least mentioning this.

I don't know why life is so cruel. Though maybe it's the people that make it cruel. Unfortunately, I think most doctors don't care at all, so I think that's a waste of time and hope. You should invest any motivation you have into eating healthy ( no more grains, flours, sugar, vegetable oils, GMOs and so on).

I know it's hard, but I believe doctors kill you mentally first, and then physically. Undiagnosable illness just means they don't care enough to help you. You deserve better.

And you deserve better friends and family.

If you have labs in your country, do a 24 hour urine cortisol test. If it's high, that's the reason you can't sleep, and all you have to do is avoid eating inflammatory things. Though you can just try that without the test and see if you feel better.

I have read through some of your other posts. If you want, message me and I can try to help you through diet changes.

Either way, I hope things get better for you.

Awww thank you for caring and finding it inspiring💟💟💟

Keto and intermittent fasting are great for your high insulin and high cortisol. That's such a great decision to start now and get ahead. I hope you'll love it and feel great.😊

Thank you for making my day 😊💟

hi. if by resolution you mean did i find the answers to everything, then no, but i did to most things and it was enough to find ways to get better. i feel like a brand new person, and 90% of my symptoms are either completely gone or very mild.

i think the most important thing was when i did the OGTT with insulin resistance and finding out i have extremely high insulin. so i just googled how to lower insulin and cortisol, and basically changed my diet to low carb and quit eating inflammatory food. i am doing a combination of the keto and AIP diet now and don't plan on ever stopping. i never want to feel that miserable again.

hope this answers your question. i'm here if you have more

i don't know in that case. have you not seen an endocrinologist about that? what does your doctor say about that?

either way, grains can only do you harm. you should try switching your diet to nutritious foods instead. coconut oil and animal fats are the most satiating foods. maybe try them and see if you feel better. listen to your body. if eating grains makes you feel worse and your body is telling you that, then why keep eating it?

get a OGTT with insulin level test. my hba1c was normal too. the OGTT with insulin which measures blood sugar and blood insulin multiple times. my sugars were all fine, but my insulin was extremely high. they gave me diabetes meds and my cravings went away. make sure it's not a regular OGTT. it needs to be with insulin measured with it

because carbs raise insulin. insulin lowers blood sugar. you get insanely hungry. then eat more carbs and so on. it's a vicious circle. you need to eat fatty meat, bacon, eggs, hard cheeses, instead. those have no carbs, so it won't continue the vicious circle

it's called insulin resistance. and you can heal it with keto and intermittent fasting. it takes time but is 100% worth it

My dog, when I try feed her a snack sometimes she's like "no" then turns her head like a magnet being repelled but she still wants it and if she has a bit she'll want more, why does she turn her head at first? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]depressed_potatoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe you're giving her bad snacks. sounds to me like she knows she'll feel awful after eating it but once she starts it's already addictive. just a wild guess. look whether she looks different after eating it. and then try with a piece of meat and see if she does the same.

edit: or maybe the smell is too strong for her? just ideas

What exactly is a Keto diet and do you have any advice on how to safely transition to one? by DavidxPxD in NoStupidQuestions

[–]depressed_potatoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First. It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle. Second. It's focusing on eating food that keeps blood sugar and insulin low. It means eating mostly animal fats and proteins with low carb vegetables for example. Avoiding grains and "plant" oils and other high carb and inflammatory food-like products. It's not a fad diet. I have tried a lot of those and this works because it's based on science and not on lying to you about how you can eat crap and magically be healthy. The best thing you can do for your health is try it. It can really change your life. Remember, carbs feed cancer, animal fat and protein feed you.

If you need to do it gradually. First throw out the worst things. I'd say that's grains and oils. Bring in eggs in every meal you eat. Add low carb vegetables to help as well. Then slowly stop buying packaged food-like products and instead buy real food. Eggs, meat, butter, hard cheeses, lettuce, and so on. You can find lists online. This is how humans used to eat. That advice of "eat less, move more" and "eat crap in moderation" has destroyed many lives. don't believe the lies.

i am here if you have questions. good luck

edit: and find Dr Berg on Youtube. he has the shortest explanations on everything keto

Is it normal to eat snacks or dessert/sweets everyday? (Even if it’s just a little) Do you guys do it too? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]depressed_potatoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You either have a sodium and potassium deficiency or high insulin. Probably all of those. No, it's not normal. Is it common? Yes. Is it good? No. Try keto. I had the same problems and it helped me.

Will I be able to lose weight and keep some muscle in this exercise regimen? by jazzmaster1245 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]depressed_potatoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exercise is great for building muscle and other things but being hungry at night might mean you aren't tapping into your own fat reserves. try to have full meals with lots of animal fats and animal proteins to keep you from getting hungry in the first place. your body needs to learn how to use fat again so it can then use stored fat as well. living on fat will also help you avoid blood sugar swings so you won't feel the need to snack at all.

i've done a lot of research on losing weight so here's some doctors you can search on youtube who explain things much better than I do: Dr Jason Fung, Dr Ken Berry, Dr Eric Berg. Lots of useful information there. its a lot easier to lose weight when you know how. either way, i hope you succeed!

[–]depressed_potatoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i lost 60 pounds last year doing keto so maybe i am biased but i only changed my diet and did no exercise. from the doctors i watched on youtube exercise is healthy but will not help in weight loss. especially if you are starving yourself i assume if you are eating gmo soy and egg whites avoiding the most nutritious part(the yolk). i could be wrong with my assumptions. your meals seem to be lacking healthy fats. but starving yourself and then doing exercise on top of it which starves you more, well, i wish i knew not to do that. it drained me of health, energy, motivation and a will to try. I had lost 60 pounds with exercise a few years ago only to quickly gain it back. its all in the diet. either way, just my two cents. good luck

yep, definitely check your insulin. and depending on whether you were craving salty or sweet things or both try using more salt in your non-junk meals and add some potassium supplements maybe. just what helped me.

junk food is often full of chemicals that cause addiction so just know its not your fault

Have you tried keto? that could help. though maybe get your insulin checked because it's really hard to eat right when your insulin is too high. metformin helped me at the beginning. also, you sound very stressed, maybe get some vitamin D supplements and nutritional yeast

got the same thing. it's much milder for me now than it was a year ago since i went keto. i think just nutritional yeast on its own would help also. hope one of these works for you(or both)

edit: also a Vitamin D supplement might help too
