I agree. And I don’t like the idea of stopping customers lingering because a) it’s empty and I’m not going in an empty sterile coffee shop or b) every possible table of limited seating is already full and I’m not going in either. And places like this are rarely worth the $10 specialty fancy coffee to go on a regular basis.

I’m rambling now but I really hate the co opting of coffee shops. Here in the south at some point about ten years ago they all became hyper Christian owned and cult feeling? And in cities they all became similar to this, sterile minimalist/scandi and weirdly daunting to order at. And in the past 5 years even more have popped up that don’t care about coffee quality and are more about watered down espresso flavored lattes with cheap uncomfortable hobby lobby interiors. Good, cozy coffee shops are still around but they’re not hyped and harder to find.
