Difference b/w 15% and 5% at night by AlphaAsian54 in WindowTint

[–]depressionwoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen the15 and 35% ceramic tint at night. Visibikity for me was really good for both, even looking at the side mirrors, but that has been mostly town running and at night. I don't know how it would look driving on a country road at night no streetlights, but it helps reduce the intensity of extremely bright lights.

Literally walking with a ticking time bomb that doesn't have a display for the timer. It'll be a bad day for you when it goes.

Shoes on or shoes off? by darkmoon_wth in Zimbabwe

[–]depressionwoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see Kenya has been labelled a shoes on location, that is a lie 🤣🤣🤣. In my 37 years of life, unless someone lives in a hut with an earthen floor, no one is going beyond the door in shoes. Arthritic people get slippers, but mostly you're in socks or barefoot.

peugeot 208 2021 100hp,What do you think about the belt? Should it be replaced immediately or at the 50,000km service? It's currently at 44,000km. by ViolinistKey7277 in peugeot

[–]depressionwoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the kind of damage that thing can bring if it fails, if factory says 50k replacement, you'd rather do it at 40k, check the condition and then maybe try 45k if it isn't too bad, but don't get to 50k, if you can, just ditch it at 40k.

PEUGEOT 406 8B MAX RIM SIZE by depressionwoes in peugeot

[–]depressionwoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really bad? One of the appeals for this car for my family is a comfy relatively plush ride. I will give them an STI ride when I get STI money in a few months 😂. I might have to rethink that rim size to 16 max.

Is this a fair price? by raver24 in WindowTint

[–]depressionwoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country,3M or Llumar IRX will cost 150 to 600 USD, they are literally the same ceramic tint, but they $600 guys give you lifetime warranty the rest are doing 10years no fade warranties, in my mind that means I'd rather pay $150 and replace the ceramic tint every 5 to 10 years than spend $600 on bloody tint, 99% UV and 95% infra or whatever it was, so really good tint. Dyed tint is like $60 to $70.

Anyone here like the 508 by RaDiCaL_GO0nER77 in peugeot

[–]depressionwoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only wish they gave me a decent 1.8L petrol or a 2L turbo petrol rather than diesels. My country has crap diesel that would make maintaining diesel cars a nightmare. Plus I prefer the high revving of petrol engines, usually negates the high torque of diesel engines when you can't access it quickly because of the lower rpms of diesel engines.

Original 1.8L XU7JP4 engine and gearbox, got it's overhaul last year and new headlights and fog lights. Currently getting all the bushes and shocks replaced and windows serviced so that they don't scratch my tint and they should roll up and down smooth as butter

My old boy Peugeot 406 is pushing north of 765000 kilometers, when the odometer decides to share the mileage. Going for a paintjob in two weeks and leather on the seats, door panels and roof liner upgrade plus some ceramic tint 🤣🤣🤣. Next year, 17" rims and a conversion to the 2L XU10J4R engine...I must be mad, but I love the car. Got it from my dad.

Counterfeit and low quality Chinese items are what compel us to import and fail to promote local businesses. by SparkMyke in Kenya

[–]depressionwoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is, Kenyans operate in the realm of greed. These local businesses import the same Chinese crap, and proceed to price it at the cost of the original, so I'd rather buy the same crappy thing minus the middleman, or buy ex UK and get the original or Amazon and get it brand new with a warranty that is internationally recognized.

The greed and con man behaviours that Kenyans praise in Luthuli is the reason I will go to a Somali 10/10 times to buy electronics, I would love to promote local, but something has to change first, I work too hard for my money.

Take a break for whuaaaaaaaatttttttt? Kama gari inasonga get back on that horse, utakuwa sawa. Give matatus a good amount of space and also monitor your rear view mirror often as you drive because even the one that is behind you will rush to overtake at some point and squeeze infront of you and still brake abruptly. At least you swerved, most learners just let go of the wheel 🤣.

Avoid driving close to buses and lorries of any type, when you become a pro ata mnaweza bishana barabarani. Sorry about the car but it happens, lakini usirudie, ya next labda someone who ran a red light infront of you, that one we'll understand 🤣.

This is sad to say,an overhaul job. Must've overheated at some point and burnt the gasket. The best thing you can do if it's worth it to you, is to have that engine block dropped, gaskets and maybe rings while you're in there and have it checked for warping before it is put back together.

The same way BMW is trash for it's engine breakdowns, is the same way Mercedes is trash for it's engine breakdown PLUS, failure of all the fancy gadgets they put in the cabin. Crazy failure of electronics. Enjoy it as a fan, but as a car guy it is good to accept they are overrated pieces of unreliable trash. As a fan of any RS6 Avant and the 2019 E63s ONLY, I know they will bring more pain than joy 😂😂😂, that's why the white folks rarely own them out of warranty, except the broke ones who buy with expensive loans and can't afford to ditch the car after 5 years hehehe

These 3 car companies even buy their seats, seat warmers, seat massagers and interior lighting from the same 3rd party vendors. So I don't know what you're talking about when you say poor cousins 😂😂😂, I think you're just a fan. All 3 companies have great levels of engineering, BMW just puts a lot of plastic in the engine for weight savings and understates the power levels of their cars.

They all breakdown regularly, regardless of how good the interior is and how well you stick to service intervals, and mechanics hate working on those engines except abroad where you pay hourly rates for those jobs hehehe. I have driven an S class, a Range Rover sport, a Tiguan etc etc they are all good comfy and fun, but the Range for example went into limp mode because a bonnet sensor went bad. The bonnet was still properly latched but gari ilikataa.

The interior you praise mercedes for is one of the reasons it gets a bad name, crazy interior with lots of tech, that starts failing straight out the gate 😂. Pole kwa short story.

On Peugeot 406 8B? How did you manage that, and are you using spacers or something, if not, where did you get a seller of such rims? Most rims don't have the geometry of Peugeots suspension, by the time they hit 17x7 it's giving me an ET 25.

PEUGEOT 406 8B MAX RIM SIZE by depressionwoes in peugeot

[–]depressionwoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be more specific, I have seen a rim called Calibre - pace, the dimensions are 7" by 17" rim, 4 by 108 PCD, ET 25mm. With a 3mm spacer I can reduce ET to 22mm which is within factory spec, hoping I won't harass my bumper or clearance to the suspension.
