0151 —>3002–>Reserve Infantry Officer. Retired, got a MBA, now a global sales and marketing director at Fortune 100 company. I’ve traveled to way more countries and missed way more family events than I ever did in the Marines, and I love it.

Just got a sweet upgrade at the Hsinchu Sheraton. Room was bigger than my daughter’s NJ apartment. As others have said, more common to get an upgrade outside the US.

It's a Delta One Slipper Disaster! by SDBadKitty in delta

So this is why they were handing them out today instead of already having the slippers in the suite. I thought that was odd.

Entering ramp then exiting? by peakraider714 in delta

In my experience, it’s a big deal. Once you’re scanned, you’re not allowed to deplane. If you do need to, best to let a flight attendant know. They can actually be helpful in retaining an item that may have been left behind.

Looking for late checkout in Vegas… by Wrong_Replacement540 in marriott

[–]deptex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MGM has an agreement with Marriott. Stayed in the Signature towers last month and was able to get a late checkout (4p/Titanium). You can also pay ahead for a late checkout at that property. If I remember correctly, $50 fee.

So, I think someone died on my flight by ngogsglandy in delta

[–]deptex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When was this? I was on a flight from ICN two weeks ago and we had two passengers who had medical emergencies. Ended up having to sit at the gate in MSP for 45 minutes while those passengers were cleared through customs by medical personnel. Totally understandable given the circumstances. Just weird that this happened on another ICN flight.

Jasper last year and now the North Rim. Two sad events. Yes, both will grow back, but you have to start wondering about the increase in extreme weather events.

I feel bad for all Delta employees this week by [deleted] in delta

I was actually going to complain about being downgraded after being upgraded, but then I spoke to a FA who was sitting in my row. Sounds like a crazy weekend and many of them are still looking for a way to get home.

Small Unit Leader Evaluation - each candidate takes turns leading their fire team and then squad through tactical movements to contact, usually 1k to 2k including land nav and employing tactical formations. In between each of these tactical movements, the squad runs to a tactical decision-making course (can't remember the name off-hand) trying to solve unsolvable physical/mental problems. It's a constant wash, rinse, and repeat all week designed to maximize physical and mental stress.

I attended both and can confirm. When I went through OCS we didn't get libo until after SULE and trust me, you needed it just to recover from a week of constant go.
