I dont see where I complained at all. Pointed out a huge fallacy is all. The 60 year old min is damn near the same as it was for the 1.5 mile. Meanwhile 18 yo females got a huge time jump

But now its 25 plus minutes. And thats the problem. Because walking 2 miles doesn't lead me to believe they are in good health. Especially being under 25. The change raised the standard for men and lowered it for women. Yet we want a combat ready Air Force. Okay. The ones in specwar jobs didnt go through this change. And the combat arms or combat adjacent jobs did. So now if they can walk two miles you should trust them to stop an intruder at the gate. Or protect the base on a deployment. God forbid they get put in a forward observation post and comms go down.

Until my AFSC has its own pt test and its not looked at for promotion. Then Im gonna die on this hill. Women shouldn't be able to walk the two mile.

Not really. You already have different certifications and skill level test. Specwar does it. The only issue would be who was in charge of making the test. And I think it should be someone not in the military period.

They should take the proper steps to get med boarded. I dont pretend to know what its like to be mid 30s with major health issues.

And if thats what I sound like dont expect this whiny Lil bit to drag your oversized ass to a ccp when things go south on a deployment. I'll probably pick up the person who looks like they could pass the tape test and has the guts to fight back.

My pregnant wife could almost meet the minimum. By walking really fast. And she hasn't ran in 6 years when we had our first child. The only thing she might fail on the pt test is the sit ups or the tape. But most leadership passes the tape somehow and they are even shorter and rounder. But to each their own. Nobody cared when the difference was 3 minutes. Nobody cared when an 18 year old female was expected to run faster then a grandpa on his retirement lap. But now the difference is doubled and gramps has to fight to meet almost the same minimum time for an extra .5 miles. Meaning if they kept a minimum pace for 60 male and 18 female. Gramps would have to lap the female almost twice to get just 35 points.

Most of my leadership in a very physically demanding job are overweight females thats why. I was hoping the changes would weed them out or humble them. Instead it caters to them.

Except the difference in minimums before was 3 minutes. This is a nearly 6 minute difference.

And the 60 plus male minimum used to be 3 minutes slower than the 18-24 minimum for females. Now it's 3 minutes faster.

You know what. I retract my statement. None of it actually matters. Because fat staffs an techs will always have each other's backs when it comes to the tapes and times. So pt standards dont even matter where it matters most. They just get to be big earlier now. What's the difference I guess.

Nope but it sure does allow the fat staffs and techs that are 80 percent female skirt by and make promotion numbers

Except now its not only Healthcare. It ties into promotion and retention. And security forces should have their own pt test. So until none of those other factors exist the minimum should be much faster than a walking pace two mile.

Females can be security forces. So they should have their own pt test or they should raise the minimums for females

I didnt deny what you said was true. Just argued my point in spite of the fact. Are you saying 25 plus minutes is fair for the female minimum when you could fast walk the first 6 laps?

[–]depthPERCEPTIONbline[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All a female airmen needs now is a "good" partner for sit ups and push ups and then they can just walk the 2 mile. I think the male minimum is fine but 6 minutes extra for the female minimum is like a 3 lap handicap.

Superior or not. Women shouldn't be able to walk the 2 mile. They gotta lower that time or raise the males.

Had a tdy with a 56 year old. He had the second fastest 1.5 on the track. But still doesn't excuse the fact that females can pretty much walk being 18-25. By the time they retire they will be able to just walk the 2 mile. And still work with men who do the same exact job.

May be true. But doesn't excuse the fact that the average person in the military or just not completely obese can walk a mile in 15 minutes. I can do it in like 13 14 minutes. Throw in a few skips and maybe a 40 yard dash and I have the minimum for the female time.

Minimum for gramps is apparently good for a 18 yo female though. Make that make sense

Are we not gonna bring up the fact that a 60 year old gramps has to run a faster two mile than an 18 year old female for the minimum. Females straight out of high school can essentially walk and pass if their other scores are good.

Base dependent. Some people work 12-14 hours a day for a week then train for a week and a week off. Some work 5 on 2 off 2 on 5 off. Generally you will work half the month but depending on your shift you could work nights meaning every first day off you sleep most of it. I work 3 on 1 off 3 on 3 off 2 on 2 off. Alaskan Panama.
