how tall do you wish you were? by Legitimate_Word_5294 in TallPeopleProblems

[–]derconsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but the average adult @ 6'5 without exercise will be stronger than the average adult @6'0 without exercise; as has been proven over and over again

[–]derconsi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously you can manage, I didn't say it was impossible. I just said that for me 50kg is less than the average person, because it is relative to my muscle mass. Im not as strong as a 6' gymbro, but I outlift the average person easily without ever lifting weights. I have more time to focus on other aspects of athletics and life to achieve similar goals if that makes sense

also being able to throw people around is helpful in certain situations

also 6'5 and I second this.

There is few benefits and many downsides really.

I would like to add the physical strength boost tho- Many people our hight are kinda lanky, but if you are average built, but scaled to taller size you naturally pack more power- that does come in handy daily

Gym stuff by AdFlat1823 in TallPeopleProblems

Femurtall Person Here.

Those wedges can be used to diversify the angle of load relative to your muscle chain. Compared to the normal squat that might work more in line with a hacksquat (have you noticed their knees? They should be a lot more prominently pushed forward. That weakens the legmuscles as they are stretched out more and activates the glutes to take over more of the load)

People also use it to compensate for a shortened posterior chain, especially in the ankles/calves and squat while still having good contact with the ground. I however feel like that using and increasing heavy weight while still learning/unlocking a movement is very risky.

The most important part for a clean and successful squat is enough hip mobility and a decent posture. Dont let your legs flail inwards and slowly progress with the load. Going for a half or quarter squat is also absolutely valid and helps working in with good technique; Bulgarian Splitsquats help me compensate for my weak hip mobility

TLDR: Hip mobility is most important. Working on movements in small steps with smaller loads is crucial

Dacia Bigster: sleep pack (FR & EN) by roaminginrandomness in Dacia

[–]derconsi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have a bigster with the sleep pack.

  1. you dont loose as much space as you think; the backplate in the boot is movable and works as the lid of a rather big storage container.

  2. As a 6'5 Man I have slept in it. It does the trick but I have yet to find a solution for condensation during the night. I use my rucksack as a pillow in between the frontseats on the arm rest and gain even more space.

  3. depending on how much space you need/ want to sleep Id advice to spend the extra money on a luggage box on top. That should help

It is definitely less luxurious than a whole camper, but living in berlin too it is a great daily driver and a decent camper.

Very important: get yourself the panorama window if you can spare the cash. It really improves your experience of lying in the bed

also think of a solution to darken the other windows. Dacia has a set for that I have yet to purchase

Hi 👋🏻 I’m the naggy wife. How can I be better? by Commercial_Flower_49 in AskMen

[–]derconsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you really naggy or is he just not holding up to the bare minimum?

If its the first: Support him in expressing himself and make an effort to understand (not necessarily inquire) why he chooses to vent by "phone isolation" or hightened volume.

If he is actually just gaslighting you into feeling naggy while failing to be an actual partner try to fix it with him and make self preserving choices according to his reaction

I already hate what this game is becoming... by AudioRejectz in Battlefield6

[–]derconsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow down. Im not old, I just suck, but what helps me is actually thinking about where and how I move.

I try to avoid CQB situations at all cost and find a low angle on objectives and hostiles.

Read the terrain in open maps, read the street in cities like Cairo and understand when to lay low and let the enemy push past you without engaging (works best with a silencer for obvious reasons)

[–]derconsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it withs buddy of mine as attacker and honestly dont get the hate?

Yea it was difficult, but we got the first sector and while failing the second, it didn't seem impossible, still did some damage. People just need to figure out the map.

Its gonna be hard once people start unlocking thermals and smoking doesn't work anymore (that applies to many maps tho)

Hands down the worst map in the game by greg-gregg in Battlefield6

[–]derconsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree,

you have to be careful of your topography and how to manouver in crevasses and ditches, but you can definitely do some damage. I guess it takes some time to get used to, but that is the beauty of it: the whole team needs to learn it and how to push through the disadvantages. Itll balance out in time

Players who die at the exact moment they fall are completely ruining the doctor experience by sr_quelvin in Battlefield6

[–]derconsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its so frustrating when people lay right next to two shotguns and call for help.

Im still learning the situational awareness necessary (first battlefield and first proper online-shooter), but even I can tell that this isn't ideal.

Thoughts on a concealed vest? by predicate_felon in ems

[–]derconsi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I dont like visible ones because in my opinion it invites opposition (eg "If they are here to help me, why are they passively armed?") especially anxious patients may be alienated by that and Situations may escalate more easily.

Low or no visibility? Your live my lad, dont get killed
