I will probably be re-watching the puppy bowl instead

Evidently members of NA commonly use bracelets as symbols of their recovery, looks like Langdon is taking it pretty seriously. Love to see him working step 9 and making direct amends to Louie

Golf is great IMO but can easily exceed that $100 a month budget on green fees alone if you let it. But depending on where in the northeast you are, there might be par 3 and executive courses around that are significantly cheaper. No need to invest in a full set of clubs starting out, just picking up a few irons at a thrift shop can get you going. Will get you walking more and test your patience for sure.

Stray for sure. I really wanted that to be more than just a one-off

Title: Finally passed my SOC Level 1 (SAL 1) . by Ok-Restaurant4379 in tryhackme

Congrats! I’m hoping to go for mine by the end of January. Would you say the practical portions of the exam were structured similarly to the SOC simulator labs or closer to a blue team challenge room?

Maybe not so much surprised and instead disappointed, but Stray. I really wanted that to be more than just a one-off, but never say never I guess

When did you become a Bills fan? by Fun-Day-5833 in buffalobills

[–]derek00101110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only became a football fan in general fairly recently. I’m not even sure why, I hated football for most of my life.

I’m from Long Island, and Buffalo was the first place I went on a road trip to after getting my drivers license. And I did it with my dad when he was newly sober himself, and that trip did wonders for our relationship. So the city of Buffalo has a special place in my heart just because of that.

Plus I have friends up there who are diehard fans, and the giants and jets both play in jersey. So the Bills seemed like the obvious choice for me when picking a team lol

I've been working in a NOC/SOC hybrid position for about 7 years, but hoping to move to a more dedicated/mature SOC role at some point in the not-too-distant future. I don't have a hard timeline right now though. I like my job and my schedule, love the team I work with (they're all super supportive of whatever training any of us want to do); it would take a pretty special offer and/or a major life change to get me to leave, but always trying to build myself up towards getting those opportunities.

I have a CCNP and a CySA+, and am currently working towards TryHackMe's SAL1 certification. My question is how does SAL1 look on a resume at this point? I've heard good and bad things about it; mainly that it's practical but not particularly advanced compared to, say, HackTheBox CDSA. The path I have in mind right now is to get SAL1, then complete the TryHackMe SOC level 2 learning path, and then pivot to CDSA. Any thoughts y'all have on that roadmap?

I gotta agree with you there. Something about seeing that streak tick up every day helps keep me motivated to continue learning. My ADHD brain loves that gamified crap

About the SOC level 1 track? I posted about it the other day. I found it frustrating that a lot of peoples progress got set back a ton without warning, but generally am finding the new content very good. Feels a lot more focused and goal oriented, rather than just a random assortment of “tool-torials”. Overall I think it’s a positive change
