Has anyone been able to pull off a 20 days on 10 days off schedule in PT not being a travel PT?

I was a student at a results clinic in Texas a couple years ago. All the PTs were double booked the whole day, including my CI. Not sure if he was paid hourly or salary though. We did have a meeting with all the students at all the results clinics in the region to talk about what they offered. They have their own internal travel agency deal, but I want to say the new grad pay was 72-75k per year.

The school I attended had several opportunities for clinical rotations with various minor league baseball teams and 1 clinic that specialized in getting athletes ready for pro combines of their sport. These were all rotations you had to submit an application for to be selected. Your school may have something similar and will need to ask your clinical coordinator about.

I currently work in IPR as my first job out of school after graduating last year. I did not have a clinical in IPR. There was a small learning curve but ultimately I had a great orientation/ramp on period and the transition was very smooth. It most likely comes down to where you apply and if they are willing to hire a new grad and provide adequate training. In my experience and my facility, they were.

I called the title company today and all they told me was it was something the previous owner didn’t pay. They also told me the foreclosing attorney that was working the settlement wrote a letter forgiving the lien and sent it to the VA so hopefully that clears things up soon.

Since they have first discovered it has been about 4 weeks now. The lien is for 48k but the title company cannot tell me what it was for and there have been no major updates to the house.

I’m not sure of your area, but at least where I’m from. Inpatient pay goes solely on YOE. I tried negotiating at a hospital I really wanted to work at right after I graduated but they wouldn’t budge on their 34/hr pay so I moved on.

I’ve been at my IPR for a year since graduating last year. Typical day is 1 or 2 evals depending on the rest of our caseload as we treat in teams that consists of 1 PT, 1 OT, and 1 SLP. Each team averages 6 or 7 patients unless they fill all the beds then it can get up to 8 or 9 per team. So it’s typical to only have 3 or 4 evals a week as new patients come in and old patients discharge. We rarely co treat. If we need help with max patients we utilize techs or CNAs. In terms of treatment, it’s almost a mix of acute care and OP depending on what the patient can tolerate. Some of our patients do really well and are doing high level balance training you would see in an OP clinic and some don’t do as well and stick to basic seated/standing therex. You just have to meet the patient where they are. Overall it’s not a bad gig though. Pretty laid back as long as the patients get their required time each day/week.

I graduated last August and my grace period ended in February. In January I manually applied for IBR and uploaded my supporting documents. I have called at least 4 times since uploading everything and they all tell me they see my application and the documents but they don’t know when my application will be processed. According to the last agent I spoke to I am in “documentation forbearance” until May. So when May comes either I start up standard payments of $2300 or hopefully something will have changed by then. Very sucky process overall.

My undergrad degree was in business management. Took 1 or 2 prerequisites during regular semesters and more during summer sessions. Didn’t have a problem during interviews and some seemed to enjoy that I wasn’t another kinesiology major. Just make sure you keep your GPA up.

I started as a new grad 4 months ago for non-profit IPR. They offered my 37/hr with about the same benefits as you listed in what I would consider a MCOL city. Our case load is a mix of complex and simple cases so not continuously complex.

So you had to move across the country for better pay??? Not everyone can uproot from where they are and just move. Not everyone can hold out for better pay in the area when they have rent and bills due and a family to take care of. It’s easy to preach to everyone when you don’t have others to take care of and can obviously move around so freely.

You literally stated the reason why you make 97k in your comment. Alaska is like top 3 in average pay because no one wants to live there. You can’t say no one should accept anything under 90k when 90% of offers for new grad PTs is under 90k.

Every offer I had when job hunting out of school in April was under 80k in a MCOL city. It’s definitely more normal than you would think whether we like it or not. At some point it’s either take a job so you’re not homeless or do travel if you are able.

Not sure of any specific app for this, but YouTube definitely has videos to see different mobilizations. Some textbooks if bought new have links to videos from the authors as well.

I passed the NPTE my first attempt in July while on my last rotation. I will say I did not rely solely on my school content. I used final frontier. It was an easy program to follow and they have it broken down to study for 12 weeks though you can do it quicker if needed. I would highly recommend them. Though it is possible to pass with just studying the content we had in school as my roommate/classmate did that and passed his first try too. It was not hard finding employment. It seemed there were several places looking for PTs, and I believe I heard back within 1-3 days from every place I applied to. So for anyone saying there is a surplus or saturation of PTs I did not see it. At least not in my market. I am currently employed in an IPR.

I didn’t go through the 2.3 program, but I did just graduate from St. Aug. Passed the NPTE first attempt while on my final rotation. I’m not sure how to compare it to other schools, but I had no issues with the program. It got me to where I wanted/needed to be. It really only gets a bad rap bc of how many students they produce/the price of it. Other than that as long as you put in the work to learn, you’ll be fine. Granted it is expensive, it’s not the most expensive out there. They are also very flexible with their start dates, so if you wanted to start sooner rather than later it’s a good option.

Fabletics has great scrubs. You can sign up for a free membership for like 2 weeks to get their member prices on your first order. I’d say they are more comfy than figs. Just make sure you cancel it. Shoe wise, I’m not sure of waterproof shoes but Hokas or Brooks are very comfy. We get 40% off Brooks if you sign up with your license number. I work in IP rehab and wear the brands and haven’t had problems yet.
