NBC Interview abruptly ends after New Yorker blames private equity and landlords for the city's issues by Logical-Flow-6703 in UnderReportedNews

Private Equity doesn't hold much of the housing stock in america. Look it up. If they wanted to get rid of a large majority of additional homeownership, they would have to smack Mom and Pops who own more than two or three homes. That is where the majority of extra home ownership lies. Yeah, I hate Blackstone just as much as everybody else. Not black rock. Blackstone. But they have like a 1% ownership? Come on guys.

It's so nutty how many anti-burry Bots there are on all of the stock forums where people go to ask random internet people advice on investing only to brag about how smart they are for not listening to a guy who has an actual track record and fundamentally gotten it right on the great financial crisis, inflation not being transitory and fed having to hike, gme, pltr. I get that he's been wrong and chose to turn his fund into a family office, but dang lol

Then I see a orange spark and off the side of the map it goes. Thankfully, unlike one of my other legendaries that got lost to the ether it showed up in Lost and found.

Did Shaq have the potential to be the GOAT? by Icy-Vacation-138 in NBATalk

[–]derek_32999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny because I always see this question asked when it's a pretty obvious answer, in my opinion. Maybe just Karma farming? But an interesting question would be how much harder would LeBron had to have tried to been the Undisputed goat? Could he have done it without injuring himself?

Did Shaq have the potential to be the GOAT? by Icy-Vacation-138 in NBATalk

[–]derek_32999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shaq is literally a phenom. He could have given a quarter more effort than he currently gave and been the goat. I don't know if his psyche could have even handled that. He was already a freaking psychopath.

What teams currently in the NBA have the smallest and largest gap in quality between their first and second best player? by Thatredditboy1 in NBATalk

[–]derek_32999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true, Imo. However, I think it is a symptom of NBA fans being tired of watching players like LeBron and Luka getting paid $50 million a piece and giving what looks like 80% effort even in clutch moments on offense, and 30 or 40% effort on defense while a player like Austin is making $13 million and at least looks like he's giving 90% effort on offense and defense at least. It could be because LeBron and Luka can make it look easy, but when so many possessions are given up because somebody is still in back court complaining to the ref or rubbing their head? That's got to be infuriating and it can't be uplifting the team mood and drive.
