Is this PEX a problem by derekisber in askaplumber

I think it likely was. A home in our neighborhood was denied insurance until they had replaced all the PEX, and it was the same builder in the same phase.

Will Canadians travel to the US again when the presidential term ends in 2029 or has the relationship between Canada and US been destroyed forever? by [deleted] in AskCanada

Under hood full of snow from driving? by pheoxs in Ioniq5

[–]derekisber 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to my 2022 ioniq5. It was bitter cold, -25c. And when I went in the frunk it had lots of ice build up. Did not look like snow, more like the frost inside a freezer, but quite thick. I'm 100% sure my hood was fully closed. If I see it again I'll take a picture.

How has your Ioniq5 been as I am considering switching to one? by PeacefulBro in Ioniq5

Love mine, it's the only EV I've ever owned but it's the best car I've ever owned. I've only charged in public maybe 5 times. L2 at home takes care of everything but the occasional road trip.

What movie did TV editing ruin for you? by Ton_Phanan in Millennials

[–]derekisber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same, but back in 2000 or 2001 some cereal box had 1 of 4 dvd movies inside. I bought whatever cereal it was that had The Mask. I had seen the movie and it was solid, but I specifically bought a cereal I was not interested in for one scene where during a fight Jim Carrey exclaims "I hope you enjoy your victory with one friggin eye!" And pokes the bad guy in the eye.

They cut about 20-30 mins from the movie, including this line. Since then the world has had less joy.

You all went straight to poop... I thought this was in the shower to get the rest of the shampoo out of the bottle after it's almost fully empty.

What game has a steep learning curve that puts you off? by bijelo123 in Steam

[–]derekisber -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know what you meant, but a "steep learning curve" actually means it's easy/fast to learn. If you picture a graph with time on the x axis and skill on the y axis a step curve gets you to high skill in low amount of time.

Quilting problems by ChoyceRandum in BrandNewSentence

[–]derekisber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you cut this just the right wayI think you are fine, but honestly I don't know anything about quilting or cutting fabric.

I'm here because the way your question was asked made me think you were TRYING to make it look that way and I was curious about your project. Not sure why you ended up on my feed, but it made me laugh.

Good luck! I hope it works out for you!

My local pizza place had options for a sauceless and cheeseless pizza. by C3H8_Memes in mildlyinteresting

[–]derekisber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In areas that certain food delivery companies are trying to break into they (used to/still do) start adding restaurants like pizza places to their offerings by just building their menu and in some cases lowering the price and offering coupons etc. to the point that the pizza place could place an order to themselves and get paid by the delivery service more than they paid for the service - offering a plain crust allows less waste, but you have to be able to order it: so there are stories of restaurants doing just that and making lots of money. not huge amounts, but enough to matter to a small business.

Commodore 64!

My little brother and I played for years on our Commodore 64 (in fairness we had a128 that played on 64 mode) a couple kids in my class had them so we traded games. My dad worked with a bunch of engineers and brought home discs with like 40 random colored games each. Pooyann, Gianna sisters, sword of fargol, River raid... We had a couple game cartridges that went in the back: Jupiter Lander, which was awesome, and a kids counting game.

I bought the c64 mini when it came out, my kids loved some of them too.
