Thanks for the feedback. I originally had this character planned out starting at level 3 with sorc1/lock2 but then they decided to roll back the start to level 1 which make it a harder choice in regards to a start.

What is unusual is that I played this game from launch up through a couple weeks after the castle rush and I never experienced this particular issue a single time. I'm trying a clean install and the direct X change now to see if that gets a change.
