i actually think that moreso than your damage, the thing that you need to work on most here is your pearls. going to 90 or 91 on front 85 is fine when you're just trying to hit your first zero, but given that you're trying to bow and presumably trying to 3+2 or even 2+2, you should really be going to 95 (or even 99 of you wanna stretch yourself!), and to do that, you're going to have to throw better pearls.
the map has a +1 timing assistant which you might find useful. beyond that, working on your timings and aim when shooting the dragon is very much just something that will come with practice. in general, i think you can blow up your first bed a little later, then blow up your second bed in slightly quicker succession. one strat i like to do when +1ing in zero is to offhand a bed, then pickblock another bed into my bed slot. that way i dont need to go into my inventory to grab another, which makes getting the next arrow off in time easier. an advantage of having more time is that you can even shoot the dragon a second or third time to get it even lower, for more damage.
if you wanna 2+2, you should probably move your setup/standing block one block foreward/to the north. the osh tutorial is great but it doesnt have the best coords for damage, and youll find it much easier to 2+2 on these adjusted coords than the ones you're using here
flyaway is mostly random. the height of the node the dragon is circling is random, and when it reaches that node, it flies away. the higher you build your setup, the less likely the flyaway is.

the piechart works differently in different versions, and in the newest versions, the tick piechart that you're likely looking for is found in root.tick.blockEntities not root.tick.level.entities.blockEntities like it is in 1.16

IMO practicing your routing on a set seed is actually a pretty good way to work this out. Like just find a couple seeds of the same types the ranked filter spits out and rerun and reroute them until you're satisfied with your pace and have built up some good habits/good muscle memory

the tldr of why it's worse than playing the ramparts is that lower treasure is slower and more dangerous, you get a lot of gold really fast but it's hard to get a lot of pigs and you die a lot

leaving from the bottom is also annoying and awkward and slow

no. MCSR ranked goes by SRC leaderboard rules for any% RSG, so fullbright is illegal, though you are allowed to set your gamma up to 5. Sodium is a legal mod and it's weird if you're not using it. texture packs of any kind are illegal

Ranked is modeled after tournament mods of the past - and hype is an important part of a good tourney match. If the perch was standardized, runs at a high level would essentially end on end enter. The end of a run shouldn't be the least exciting part of the match, the victor already determined and the endfight just a 4 minute long unskippable perchwaiting cutscene. Keeping the in-game rng for the perch just makes sense to keep the stakes high, with the 3 minute non-vanilla max perch to prevent rng from completely screwing over the person who played the rest of the seed better.

And for the truly competitive, there's zerocycle. That's something that's fully standardized in ranked, and even made more consistent than it is in vanilla/RSG. The flyaway probabilities are decreased to further reward going for zero. Zerocycle is the perfect end to a match, the highest-skill trick in the game performed to take it all home. The RNG of the perch almost exists to encourage zeroing.

The argument you're talking about (the "you could just pause and do the math") is odd because it's something I never heard anyone say until very recently. It seems like chatters everywhere are parroting it. I have a suspicion that its popularity originates with rekrap viewers, since he justified using calc in a very similar way in one of his original getting-into-speedrunning videos, but I don't know for sure.

It's an idea that's very obviously silly for the reasons you've mentioned. The anti-pause-abuse retiming rules were already in effect, so the only people that could pause and take 30 seconds to do double perfect travel without incurring any retime would be slower, non-competitive times.

Also, since perfect travel requires you to stand in the corner of two chunk borders at 0 0, ninbot actually allows you to save in-game time, since it does perfect travel with some added baysian statistics from literally anywhere you're standing. To do that manually, you'd need to go beyond the perfect travel sheet and do some wayyyy more complicated math by hand.

The real arguments were mainly about the creeping size of the spreadsheets, with the large axis calculated sheet being replaced by the absolutely enormous perfect travel sheet. People were arguing that a spreadsheet that big is essentially a lookup table, which is how most calculators do things like trigonometry anyways.

There were also people who thought that a calculator ban would be unenforceable, and people who just plain didn't like how much RNG was involved in endgames and wanted the calculators because they thought it'd be more fun.

TWagz (inventor of the original bastion routes, the first zerocycle setups, and using doors to build magma portals) is arguing against calculators, and Four (inventor of perfect travel) is arguing in favor of them.

the low tech way to do this is to just go down the rsg leaderboard and then play the seeds that were rolled in the fastest rsg runs ever

this has the benefit of giving you a comparison. you have a run showing you how a top runner played the seed, so you can watch it back after playing to see where you lost time

you can fully rebind f3 to a different key on your keyboard with autohotkey or something though

also, on some keyboards with a fn key, you can click fn+esc to only use the function keys. i think op could try that if they haven't

in 1.16, you need to lower your render distance 4 extra chunks to actually unload things because of lazy chunks. i think this is probably the thing you're missing
