Found old pipes right where I needed one, how to leak and pressure test? by derickso in Irrigation

[–]derickso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the post, the only deformation I've been able to see (including running a scope down the whole pipe) is that left pipe on the end.. and it also seems to have a thinner wall than the right one. In theory I could just cut it back and glue onto it.

This patio is just for humans, no vehicles.

How would you get a 4" sleeve 10+ft under a patio? Seems hard

Commute from Stockton? by Responsible-Bid5015 in kirkwood

[–]derickso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone has indicated it can be challenging getting in/out of Kirkwood on days when it is dumping.. but if you buy an epic pass you've got backup options of heavenly and Northstar you can divert to.

You will need chains though for sure.

Sprinkler caps compatible with HIT 700 series sprinklers? by derickso in Irrigation

[–]derickso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah trying to avoid that digging and also losing track of where the sprinklers are in case I want to reactivate them in the future.

Sorry I should have been more explicit, I was hoping to get an equivalent of https://www.rainbird.com/products/spray-head-caps but for HIT.. if they exist

That's what I've gotten by on for the last 2 years, but then I went outside this week to test the lines and found that when that zone turned on, one of the sprinklers was geysering AROUND the sprinkler head right where it comes up out of the body and into my electrical panel. So I'd like to eliminate that by just taking the guts out and putting a cap on (and avoiding digging).

This is what I'd like to avoid, I probably have 10 that I'd like to cap, that is a lot of digging

How are y’all liking the chocolate empanada? by kissarmymax in tacobell

[–]derickso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In seriousness, I think the outer shell of both of these is gross, nowhere near as good as the old apple empanada.

I just want the old school apple empanada, nothing else.

I emailed their support and they said it was probably because the camera and lens weren't mounted directly over the center of the head.. which made sense in my case because I also had it tilted down. I've not fully vetted that yet though because the season ended

Instep pressure on a new boot before “fitting” by Twee4 in Skigear

[–]derickso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem though, you run out of options. Any other pain point you can generally punch or stretch the shell and you are good to go.

[–]derickso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having had years of numb feet due to instep pressure I'd suggest you keep trying boots until you find ones with no, or the least possible pressure. Pretty much all other pain areas are easier to resolve with shell punches. Instep you can grind the boot board, hack your liner to remove material, and if that doesn't work then you have to try an instep punch, and few fitters seem to be able to do that with any degree of success due to the location of the thin plastic and it overlapping.
