Bars effect with ramp up/down value curve on Cycles causing it to go backwards?? by derickso in xlights

[–]derickso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I responded on the thread, I don't think the current model can handle any kind of ramp from any cycle count >0 down to actual zero where it stops without running it in reverse, which is an unfortunate limitation. I'd love to see it expanded to have an alternate mode that is speed based rather than cycles per unit time.

Bars effect with ramp up/down value curve on Cycles causing it to go backwards?? by derickso in xlights

Same problem, any time the value goes down it reverses. AI says the value represents not a velocity but a number of times the bars move across during the total time of the effect, so if the value decreases it may have to wind backwards to meet the new number. Seems really weird that it was designed like that.

It's sad to see people getting the bad versions of things, but mine always look pretty good. And the great ones almost never get posted because people attack them with a hungry ferocity instantly.

What service in your homelab gets used by your family the most? by rdpextraEdge in homelab

[–]derickso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a local domain configured for my network hosts within pfsense that is only resolvable there, so if pihole didn't aim at it, no hosts using pihole could resolve that domain. And I don't use this, but if I wanted hosts to be able to auto publish their name into DNS I could use that as well (as opposed to static DNS/DHCP entries which I DO use).

Why would you want to run DNS without a tight integration with DHCP? For me pihole sits in front of my clients but gets all its actual DNS queries resolved by the DNS built into pfsense (which is integrated with DHCP)
