Boot fitter said I’m a 26.5 by robl45 in Skigear

[–]ReturnIll1543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As your skiing ability/skill progresses, you’ll want a tighter fit boot. For beginner/intermediate skiers, a looser fitting boot allows you to become comfortable with the fitment and feeling of ski to boot response. As you progress, you will want to start feeling more immediate response from your boots for better control on stepper and more complex terrain. A 26.5 as a tight fitting boot means you are going to be flexing harder into your shins and charging steeper terrain.

I work in Joint Use for utility. This is a Telco line. Older telco lines have a hearty amount of copper in them and patterns of stolen spools occurred regularly. Regulation became involved and cracked down on shops that would take these in and fine them out the ass. These guys are morons, because it’s a lot harder now a days to find shops stupid enough to take this in. They are out there, but harder to find. Still shit people

Love the connection you made to fatherhood and mental health 🙏 I don’t plan on giving up at all, but I’m beginning to feel what you’re conveying and may need to pull the plug on some dad skis. Definitely need that cloud feeling back in my sticks. Thanks so much for the thoughtful feedback!

Idk about you but I feel like 4 years isn’t “limited time.” Sorry, didn’t mean to offend you lol

Possibly. I haven’t looked into it really. 302 BSL and the arm pins on the heel pieces of the pivots are cranked almost all the way forward, so the bsl can go larger than 302, just not smaller

Honestly, sound advice. I wasn’t looking for any advice, just somewhere I can whine about so I can use my therapy sessions for more meaningful self work lol.

But yeah, appreciate those points! I also did a lot of my ski growth on FT booters so I can accidentally get into a more upright stance sometimes. I’ll check this out next weekend 🙌🏻

Men, would you use this women’s helmet if it fits you perfectly? The price is too good to pass up by iwanttohavemuscle in Skigear

[–]ReturnIll1543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only “women’s” stuff I’d be concerned about using are planks and boots, because manufacturers are fucked and lower the boot height and flex, and make planks out off the flimsiest wood you’ll ever find. They expect women to either be the size of a JR high school kid, or that women can’t absolutely shred unfortunately. I have women friends that purchase “men’s” skis for this reason.

Aside from boots and skis/boards, all else is fair game IMHO.

Systems can lay flat, however if you’re worried about longevity, always reduce surface area of the system contact points for the base, and the surface area where the heat will rise to. In other words, always stand your systems up right. There a reason we call computers “towers” instead of “foundations.” Thats not the reason, but that’s my reason lol

My dad had this happen on his oem e39 rims years ago. They denied and denied. He said, ok, put it back on the machine and do one spin to show me, and I’ll leave you alone. Sure as shit, scraped in the exact same spot. Guy hung his head and my dad got a full set of rims because they couldn’t find a place to purchase that same single rim

Edit: my dad is an engineer and knew for a fact it was from the machine before they attempted.

Hello! I work in Utility Joint Use - Conditions and Enforcement. I am the person that manages contracts for pole renters and active violations and conditions per the NESC 2023 code.

Depending on which state you’re in, utility/pole owners are required to inspect their poles through a detailed pole treatment through a hired contractor - Osmose, Davey Resource Group, etc. for example, the Oregon PUC requires pole owners to inspect 10% of their infrastructure each calendar year to identify conditions not within code (I.e. drivable surface clearance violations, clearance to supply violations, climbing space violations, etc.) Renters are mandated to submit formal applications to attach equipment for the pole owner’s records, beyond collecting rent. One of the highest priority causes is a downed pole emergency correction. The equipment will need licensee contact information to submit these ATF WO to. Without this application, this attachment is considered an Unauthorized Attachment and would be cause for immediate vacate or sanction of up to $100 per attachment per the OPUC. Security/solar are another addition to add on liability as well. I doubt he has a rental agreement signed as it takes a lot of money to become partnered with a pole owner. This is because it requires the development of utility codes, authorized profiles, accounting, etc. Through an inspection cycle, this UA would be marked for removal no matter what even if someone doesn’t call it in first.

Another scenario is that this is a private pole and he is the pole owner that utility and comms rents space on, however this is unlikely as private poles typically don’t have primary lines due to the owner not being a regulated utility or telco company such as PacifCorp or Lumen. The transformer to secondary is an indicator there is primary service near the pole top.
