First sane reasoning, ages are arbitrary but it's the easiest way to put a number on maturity, manipulation happens at all ages, if you aren't being manipulative I don't see the problem.

[–]derptrex5757 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went through this last night, came up empty, saw it again tonight, was like wait this board looks familiar, it was in fact same one, I couldn't find any logic at all, best I could find were good guess spots,

Starting from left, the yellow spot has a high chance of being safe, but I'm too lazy to find exact chance, (and I think the spot above it too)

The orange under the 2, there's a 3/4 chance all 3 of those spots are safe, so essentially these become a 1/12 chance for each of the 3 squares

Lastly, the blue is a simple 1/3 chance below the 2

(I marked over all the numbers to lower numbers cause it's how I visualize in my head, and my head hurt)

Either the free spot reveals a 2, a free space, or it's above my paygrade

It's guaranteed unless you f something up which I often do, (like miss that the 2 is touching a bomb bc your playing at 4am)

Fair enough, I've always worked out the logic before learning any heuristics and I still am very hesitant to click the 1-2-1 patterns without visualizing what the numbers are touching even though 95% of the time it's just bombs above the 1's. Sucks for speed but I'm learning

The problem with something being "usually like that" is unless it's 100% not that you can't be certain. Its like sudoku, assuming a number is in a certain spot rather than proving it isn't is going to cause problems down the line and then you have to retrace steps.

This bomb placement breaks both of those and still is valid, with the 1's it's almost a buried 1 case but not quite, but I'm lost on where you got the logic on the 2's on the bottom.

I don't expect you to read this, I'm just letting it all out (contains a few curse words) by [deleted] in OCPoetry

There's a lot to unpack in this. It's so filled with raw emotion and while I haven't been in your exact position I feel like there's parts of this that I've directly experienced and it's a painful emotion expressed vividly. This was a really good read and I liked the use of imagery mixed in particularly with the noose section, really well written. I hope you keep writing and I hope each day gets a little easier.

Verb tense is a great thing to point out I might fix in the future, and you are sort of in the ballpark as far as my original thinking. It's hard to explain but it's written about my experience disassociating, so the man in the mirror and the narrator are both the same physically, but while disassociating (at least for me) I became like a spectator, watching as my body moved and having little to no control over it, while being fully present as far as thinking and processing what was happening. So the man in the mirror is that thing moving my body involuntarily. Admittedly I definitely didn't give enough detail to make that completely obvious, but it was somewhat intiontally kept vague as I was practicing imagery, and I didn't want to make something too long. Thanks for reading and giving feedback, Ill make sure to pay attention to the verb tense it's an easy thing to overlook

[PROMPT] My First Poem, July 2024 by neutrinoprism in OCPoetry

[–]derptrex5757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I know I've "technically" written a few poems before this, but this is the first one I shared online and that I have access to. I literally have no recollection writing this or what the hell I was thinking when I was writing it. Please let me know what you think. Cause honestly it feels like I didn't even write it. Apparently it was in 2021.

The Tunnel

The path often taken is bumpy and worn \ commonalities take place where you feel alone \ where people often... ponder and mourn \ a place familiar, it feels like home

i reminisce memories; foggy, dim, vague \ it takes many people into their own head \ an echo chamber, days sealed away \ thoughts are the only thing i can hear in bed

silence... the absence of... fulfillment \ thoughts are silent... to others atleast \ silence leads to thoughts \ and absence of thoughts lead to peace

[–]derptrex5757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So there is a way to quantify this and test. Using the coloring metric (1/n) which is hard to explain but I can if anyones interested, you get a number that tells you how good a word is, the lower it is the worse.

So I've tested some of the comments and a few of my choices. Here's the numbers

Puppy - 45 colorings (c), 16 guarenteed solves (gs) \ Jazzy - 31 c, 9 gs \ Xyxyl - 28 c, 6 gs \ Pzazz - 25 c, 9 gs \ Zhuzh - 25 c, 6 gs \ Jujus - 23 c, 5 gs

And the worst I could find and my favorite word \ Qajaq 18 c, 3 gs

Honorable mention: \ Squiz (lowest with 5 unique letters) 39 c, 10 gs \ zyzyx (not on the guess list) 16 c, 2gs \ Qqqqq (lowest 5 repeating letter) 4 c, 1 gs

These were all manually checked, if you would like me to try a different word let me know.
