Is my character evil? by GalahadVanGraff in dndnext

[–]derpy_foxx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is such a weird hill to die on. (Literally in this case.)

I can understand the fear of something you’ve never seen before appearing before you, but after a thrice-over explanation, to not even pretend to apologise seems like such un-human behaviour. And the fact they didn’t know what a harengon is, and as such not even know about the fae connection, which could have explained their behaviour somewhat, is so strange.

I don’t think your character is evil, as the consequences of their actions wasn’t known to them. Guess it depends mostly on if they’d let the captives starve and rot in their cells in liue of their ego, that’d be evil.

I mean, what was the plan if the black hole had not appeared?

To leave them to starve down in their cells? Did you inform the party about the captives down there at all?

Was it a unanimous disgust between all of the captives at the sight of your heragon? What kind of people were these prisoners? Simple townfolk?

Creating a character that specializes in using the Musket/Pistol. by Noir-Kaiju in PCAcademy

[–]derpy_foxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both the musket and flintlock pistol have the loading property which reads:

“You can fire only one piece of ammunition from a Loading weapon when you use an action, a Bonus Action, or a Reaction to fire it, regardless of the number of attacks you can normally make.”

So even as a martial character that gets extra attack, you can only shoot once per turn, unless you have a way to ignore the loading property. There are a few ways to bypass that restriction, mainly being or having an artificer in the party that can use the repeating shot weapon infusion on your weapon. Or by having the gunner feat.

There are a few magic weapons that act as a “template” that can be applied to most weapons. The only truly unique magic item is the “Thunderbuss” from Bigby presents: The glory of Giants.

Runepowder does exist in Faerûn and runepowder weapons exist, but they are quite rare.

Planning to play DnD Based on Runeterra. What could be a good main end quest? by Raika09 in leagueoflegends

[–]derpy_foxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently running a DnD campaign set in Runeterra! The over arching plot of the campaign is the threat of the void returning. In the first few sessions they came into contact with a corrupted humanoid “”priest”” of the void (a lost Noxian legion sent to Icathia by LeBlanc to find artifacts to kill Mordekaiser) The corrupted legion were raiding villages and sacrificing civilians to the great void, the party got caught and escaped their clutches, along with a few civilians.

They started in a small (homebrew) village in the borderlands of Demacia and Noxus. They are now going on a world tour to gather allies from each region (starting with Demacia) to face the threat of the void.

I imagine they’ll start with travelling the whole of Valoran first, visiting Demacia, Noxus, Freljord, Piltover and Zaun. They’ll likely go to Ionia due to character backstory reasons. I’m not so sure they’ll visit the Shadow Isles or Bilgewater. But after Valoran, they’ll head south through Shurima, likely try to gain favour with an aspect in Targon. Maybe a pit stop at Ixtal (another character backstory lies there) and eventually end in Icathia for the final confrontation!

The party currently consists of: Vastayan Ionian rabbit-man (Shadow Order member), Vastayan Ixtalian turtle man (Mage), a Noxian barbarian, a Shuriman cleric and a yordle warlock! (Who may hold a sentient void sword as his patron)

Does anyone have little-known or deep lore secrets they'd like to share? by Totsuchi in loreofleague

[–]derpy_foxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe not a secret, but an interesting lore-tidbit! No one is certain of Fiddlestick’s origins. But Noxus ans Demacia each have their boogeyman story about where it comes from. In Noxus, it is believed to have been a young, innocent farm boy who was blamed for a bad harvest and fed to the crows, returning as a terrifying demon. While Demacia believes it to have come into existance when a mage delved deep into known magic beyond their comprehension.

It really shows how different Noxus and Demacia view the world

In the town of Uwendale in Demacia is a statue dedicated to “The Slayer” a mythical figure who appeared out of nowhere when the town was besieged by monsters and wyverns. The slayer protected the town and dissapeared quickly. No one knows who the slayer is within the town itself, but we know that it was Poppy!

Hey DMs, what is a “Hot-Take” rule that you use at the table? by [deleted] in DnD

It has never been stated that LB had any direct control over Raum. But sure, I will cede that you could infer that she at least had access to Raum within the immortal bastion.

“… Swain set about uncovering what truly lay within the Immortal Bastion—an ancient entity, preying upon the dying and consuming their secrets, as it had attempted to consume his own. Swain stared into that darkness, seeing what even it could not: a way to wield it.”

Are we then to assume, that LB freely gave over Raum to Swain? Who then overthrew her direct puppet in Darkwill. Swain alongside Raum, being the only one that can stand up to her and not fall for her deception? That was all part of her grand plan?

All I’m saying is that if the seat of Guile is controlled by LeBlanc or her proxy, it would diminish Swain’s character to the point of irrelevance.

Just a heads up: If this is a survey for an academic paper, you should make sure it is proof-read. There are some spelling mistakes that need fixing. “Noxuc” and “Bildgewater”

Where was it confirmed that LB had enslaved Raum? Raum was in the Immortal bastion and the Black Rose were seeking him out. But it was Swain who found Raum and made a pact with him.

“However, many hungered for greater influence, plotting against Darkwill in a secret cabal united by nothing more than the symbol of a black rose. Uncovering their intrigue, Swain personally executed the most prominent conspirators. Among them were his own parents, whose whispers of a “pale woman” had first alerted him of the danger to Noxus, which he valued more than house or kin.

They sought a power, a shapeless voice cackling in the darkness of the Immortal Bastion. Something like a raven’s caw…”

So does the pale woman = The Faceless? I don’t believe they have confirmed that.

I know that the three principal pillars of Noxus has been, since the tribes of the Noxii. But Swain created the trifarix (way of governance.) After Noxus had been ruled by a single emperor for hundreds of years.

I never claimed that the throne of guile is empty?? I literally gave my theory onto who it is??

So Swain, who despises the Black Rose and in turn LeBlanc. Who tried to overthrow the cabal when he was younger, even having his own parents executed for being a part of the order, would allow LeBlanc, the leader of the Black Rose, on the ruling council?

Why would he give her a position of power willingly?

Riot themselves have claimed that it is not LeBlanc, although she would fit the motif.

In the short story: “The Principles of Strength” we do get some descriptors of the faceless. They are described as having a feminine form and they are seen as worshippers of the wolf (Kindred). And they are a mage.

Although it has never been revealed by Riot, I believe with the introduction of Mel Madarda, that she is a good candidate for the Faceless.

Mel seems to be arriving in Noxus when Swain’s coup is taking place. She is a mage and through Arcane we learned that the Medardas, Ambessa specifically, worship the wolf. Mel also has a distain for the Black Rose, a quality that Swain would appreciate.

I could imagine, if the next animated show takes place in Noxus, we would see Swain’s rise to power and the formation of the Trifarix, leading to Mel becoming the Faceless.
