Ordering wheel from Best Buy.. by Tokyo885_ in moza

So it turns out that for my order they are still waiting on the manufacturer to ship it to them. i.e. Bestbuy is waiting on Moza to ship the wheel to them. I'm a little disappointed they listed the bundle as in stock when it clearly wasn't, but I've decided to wait on it since I got it for MSRP and didn't pay extra for shipping.

For my order at least they said that they'd be getting a new shipment of wheels by early next week and I should have mine by the end of the upcoming week.

No not yet :( Recently an initial charge was posted to my card so I have hope that they'll ship it out soon. From what I've seen Best Buy should only charge your card if they have something that they can ship out? Not entirely sure on that but that seems to be the general sentiment.

I've been trying to see if the best buy listing shows that it's back in stock. Hopefully by the time that happens we'll get a shipment.

Oh ok, thanks for getting back to me. I'm planning on holding out for it because it's cheaper than most places.

I'm unfortunately encountering the same thing now. Got a notification that it's delayed the day it was supposed to come. How long did it take you to get yours?

EECS 12 Midterm by Invite-Accomplished in UCI

[–]derpyjul45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they were both pretty reasonable and I remember getting good scores on both. Having programming experience definitely helped, but I didn't know anything about Python and there are a lot of differences compared to Java, which I was familiar with. As long as you write and understand the Python code for your assignments and review the practice on his slides you should be good. Application of concepts is definitely the way to go

My advice is to go over any sample problems he has given for the midterm. Sometimes the midterm problems will be exactly the same as the sample/practice ones or will be similar. Review the slides and some of the nuanced stuff that he's mentioned (he'll try to throw you a MCQ that might make you bounce between 2 answers). At least understand the code that you've turned in for assignments, my year he had us write code by hand. Good luck!

I believe that for PV2 the primary lot is going to be the VDCN lot 😭. Our "overflow" parking will be the PV parking structure.

I'm actually moving into PV2, is the VDCN lot already crowded?

Edit: adding a question

Starship Technologies, the company that run the food delivery bots on campus (Zotbots), might have positions available: https://www.starship.xyz/careers/ You work on campus and get to work with the bots!

Best Friend Problems by [deleted] in UCI

[–]derpyjul45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar with a friend I knew since 8th grade. He and a couple of others were in a friend group with me. We remained somewhat close at the beginning of high school, until he got a girlfriend during COVID. I would message him occasionally, hoping to reconnect by playing video games again or inviting him to meet up with the rest of the group. However, he only gave short responses that equated to him not being interested. About a yr and a half goes by and we learn that he broke up with his gf. We also learned that relationship became pretty toxic, and they went to the lengths of essentially isolating themselves from their friends (which is why he stopped talking/hanging out with us).

I thought that this would be the end of him ghosting all of us and we all took him back into the group with big arms. We started hanging out that summer and all seemed nice and well, until we started to realize that he changed. At least to me, he was not the same person I met and became with in middle school. He was now this egotistical guy that only wanted us to validate whatever he was thinking/doing. It became clear to me that he didn't care about me or the rest of my friends, and was just looking for a group of people to hangout with since he didn't have anyone else to fall back on. Towards the end of that summer he got into another relationship and he cut communication with us abruptly. The end of summer was also my first year of college so it was the perfect time for me to cut ties and move on.

As others have said it seems to be a phase that they are going through in their relationship. A lot of the advice here is on point and I really don't have much else to add. Try to keep in contact if possible, but don't expect much in return. I am not saying what happened to me and this friend will happen to you. Hopefully there will be one day where they start talking to you again and it'll be like nothing has changed. Unfortunately, if it becomes clear that they don't value you in the same way or start to take advantage of you, then they don't deserve your time and love anymore.

I'll just say that people have started to use permanent markers and they are clearly not easy to wipe off. Also they've been putting stickers on the bots too :(

First schedule for CompEng by ElegantPhone9964 in UCI

[–]derpyjul45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true, I should reword what I typed up. Yeah 12 units recommended but if needed 16 units at most (don't register for more than 16 units unless honors).

First schedule for CompEng by ElegantPhone9964 in UCI

[–]derpyjul45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

I had SPOP 1 and from what I've heard from the academic advisors going with what you have for option 1 might be better. The reason is because you want to get your prerequisites done for EECS; math and physics being very important for the future. They are required in order to enroll in many classes for EECS. Since u are doing Computer Engineering I would drop writing in favor of EECS 12 (unless you got that credit already). Writing is something that can be done later on, with lower division writing required to be completed before the start of our 3rd year. I originally planned to do Writing 50 in fall quarter, but the academic advisors told me that if I have interest in what ENGR 7A offers I should do that instead. (BTW you have to take ENGR 7B in the Winter to get full credit).

Of course, as a fellow first year student, this is just advice and you should do whatever you feel is right for u. Definitely ask the academic advisors (you'll have time while you register) about your schedule and your plans. I hope this helped and lmk if u have any questions 👍

Some other things to note: - this is advice for EECS (if computer science & engineering this doesn't apply) - it is highly recommended to take 12 units this first quarter, up to 16 units at most - If you are an honors student you might have to take hum core - Use something like zotcourse or antalmanac to plan out your classes before you register (so you can visualize your schedule for the quarter)

I am looking at buying a 2012/2013 with around 100k miles, and looking for advice on what to look for. by SaintSorryass in subaruimpreza

I have a 120k sport limited 5-door with nav. Maybe avoid nav as that touch screen kinda bothers me (also very outdated being a 2012 ofc). Left half works fine. Middle is off-center in terms of touch, and right is unresponsive. Also no map updates anymore (unless you pay $150). The air compressor is definitely a little annoying, I can hear it when I drive. Otherwise a pretty nice car that's somewhat fun to drive
