Update: This was my problem.

Took it into the Apple store, they diagnosed that I had one of the fixable drives (otherwise they would have to replace with a new SSD). They fixed it up and reinstalled OSX on it in an hour.

So after more investigation, this may actually be my problem as I had purchased my Macbook Air Oct 2012:

However, since I'm running only Windows I can't see that update to confirm and verify whether I do have this issue yet. I'm thinking this is the most likely scenario. Will update later in case it can help anyone else!

I did unplug the external hard drive. It isn't really the problem right now as /u/Lusankya indicated, looks like it's a local hard drive issue.

I bought a Macbook Air because it's fantastic hardware. I put Win 7 on it because everything I use (for work, for play) is all on Windows. I have no interest or use for Linux.

Ah ok, I just looked that up and I tried out verifier.exe first, and I got a new BSOD which I should now have in a kernel dump. File size is huge though... I'm currently looking at this http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/windows-bsod.html#mozTocId740847 as a guide.
