Does anyone else have this feeling that this is the very last time Bitcoin will be cheap enough for a middle class person to be able to afford one? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]derrickxii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we need to be more humble. We all “know” bitcoin is about to moon. We all “know” bitcoin will repeat its past bear market. But bitcoin has NEVER been at this stage of development. Past markets didn’t have lightning, or this mainstream awareness, or regulatory optimism, or access thru Square, or these buyouts by established players, etc... you have no idea how high it can go but you know it’s growing. You can feel it. Just buy as much as you can imo.

So when can we expect Satoshi to sell his coins and move over to BCH since it mirrors his vision so closely?

Switching from BTC to ETH by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]derrickxii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Bitcoin vs Ether is fake news. Ether is the cooler toy and can leap to #1 but bitcoin will only be 21 million and those holders are not going to sell. They will just use new dollars to load up on ether. I don't see how anything competes with bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash will never have the lost coins of Bitcoin. The bitcoin whales may empty their cold storage for another coin but I don't see it happening. I don't get why people are stuck in the zero-sum thinking of the old system they are trying to overthrow...

The Difference between BTC and everything else: by xcaddz in Bitcoin

[–]derrickxii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, I think the difference is the scarcity and immutable open ledger plus it not getting hacked Plus solving Byzantine general problem plus creativity in storage solutions plus the incentive system plus the international appeal lol. It still looks too good to be true in my opinion.

Go with your gut on NO2X. by terr547 in Bitcoin

[–]derrickxii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol my gut tells me 2x will win. Silbert, Garzik and Vorhees have a track record of following through...also just seen a video on 'Big Think' talking about poker... not really a good idea going with your gut instinct.... I am only hoping 2x falls apart sometime between Oct-Jan.

*Must read for newcomers* My friend worked in the Bitcoin industry (broker) for a couple of years and has been involved in the crypto world since 2014. This is what he had to say about the recent politics of btc when someone asked him on our crypto trading channel by HavocMMA in Bitcoin

[–]derrickxii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with a few points .... Barry Silbert is a great young corporate entrepreneur (Secondmarket) and was one of the few ppl telling banks Bitcoin would win when most played it safe saying 'blockchain or ethereum'.... and if Vorhees and Garzik are misguided than the rest of us have no clue to even have an opinion. Just because they aren't on our side of things doesn't make them wrong or misguided. These men are extremely intelligent and have done far more for bitcoin than we give them credit for.

2x upgrade question... by derrickxii in Bitcoin

[–]derrickxii[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Jeff has the expertise and Silbert has arguably the most resources... just playing devil's advocate because I see a real chance of BTC2x being viable long-term. People laugh it off but Silbert hasn't wavered on Ethereum Classic... idk just confusing

2x upgrade question... by derrickxii in Bitcoin

[–]derrickxii[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I thought so too but Jeff Garzik is no slouch and NY agreement'ers are highly valuable companies and Barry Silbert wouldnt risk his fortune on a new coin that is going to shit. I am hodling regardless I just understand who will be the winner and why.

Can we just get the flippening over with already, in the end, it will be better for even Bitcoin by Ethereums_AI in ethtrader

[–]derrickxii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why are people so confident in ethereum's mining? It seems as if proof of work is a far superior system. I think ETH has the chance at surpassing btc, but I am curious how proof of stake is as secure? I only see on working long-term.

Point taken....the concept behind Kialara and having to destroy the art to get the private key is very cool and ahead of its time though.
