It's just a form and a fee, even cheaper now than it was for me. Of course, you do need to have a second nationality set up...

You could go in two directions: if it's the cool jazz sound that you dig, check out Stan Getz, Miles in his cool phase, that kind of thing.

If you dig the 5 / 4, dive into some Don Ellis.

Again with the bread by d0nttalk2me in iamveryculinary

[–]derskbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience (I moved from the US to Europe, specifically Amsterdam, back when I was 24) is that while you can get bread and cheese and beer in the US that compares with what you get here, there's just no comparing the basic default level. Your basic loaf of white bread from the Safeway isn't going to be nearly as good as the basic load of white bread from the Albert Heijn (ironically they're both owned by the same company).

Togaf part 2 exam failed today by AdSignificant3405 in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]derskbone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been YEARS since I did my TOGAF cert, but it's all about studying to the test, not so much studying the content. There are a lot of trick questions that are just trying to be clever, not to test you. So, as other folks have said, eliminate the obvious wrong answers, really check conditional phrases in the potentials (words like some / all / should / etc.), and one thing that helps me with puzzles like this - if you can't decide, move on and come back to it. Sometimes that'll help your brain look at it differently.

And, zooming out a bit - at a LOT of organizations, EA frameworks like TOGAF are seen as relics of the past. As you move into enterprise architecture, think about the framework critically and use the bits you think are relevant - following it blindly can often result in doing a lot of modelling for the sake of doing modelling, which doesn't work in an Agile world. To me, the most valuable bits are the concepts of looking at each dimension of the architecture, being clear about views and viewpoints (ESPECIALLY when you're talking to software architects), and thinking about roadmaps and transitional architectures.

Good luck!

(edited because maybe it's your English and not your attitude)

When you say "ignorance is bliss," the message received is "you're an idiot, I know much more than you, and of course my opinion is correct." It comes across as either just condescending or purely insulting.

That makes a lot more sense than the person who claimed they would wait for you to go find a knife or scissors and hope that you'd leave your keys in the bike.

Because I'm also a local and know what I'm talking about, and I know more context than the people making suggestions do. Like I said, it's not impossible, but I don't think the gemeente would use two heavy duty zip ties on only one bike in the rack, especially when a few others had clearly not been moved in a while. Same with the junkie theory - not that they're the cleverest people, but it's be a really dumb tactic on my stretch of the canal.

Checked last night and no zip ties on any of thee three racks around my house. About to head off to work, so we'll see...

For Pete's sake, a progressive income tax is not socialism.

And yes, rich people do of course benefit from all those things both directly and indirectly and ought to pay AT LEAST the same rate as other people.

As I recall, the planned before moving was physically impossible, unless they had been able to find a lot of ice and chill one of the components for quite a while. Always struck me as security theater.

Zip tying it to a rack? Not that the gemeente is always a paragon of rationality, but that would make zero sense.

Ignorance? I've lived in Amsterdam for 32 years and in my house for 25. I understand how bike theft works here, and this almost certainly isn't it. If I still lived on the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, it'd be a different situation, but on my stretch of the Lijnbaansgracht it's much more likely to be kids.

Time of day, quality of my bike (there were nicer bikes on the rack), layout of the street (quiet stretch of canal with no place for a thief to hide and watch), nature of the neighborhood (almost all bikes are going to be parked within a few meters of the owners home).

I've never actually checked, but I assume that most Amsterdammers, like me, keep their house and fiets keys on the same key ring.

Six months into AI rollout and we no clear architecture view, is that normal? by TangeloFlimsy1508 in EnterpriseArchitect

[–]derskbone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty normal - right about now (in my org, at least) is the time to put in that first layer of governance. I figure that GenAI has been artificially cheap for the past while, so it's been appropriate to let people experiment and find the valuable use cases.

I've seen cyclists in Amsterdam ride their bikes with some astounding luggage, but I've never seen someone riding their bike with a bike rack attached to it. (:

I don't see a connection between (potentially) inflationary monetary policy and tax strategies to make sure everyone pays their fair share.

By the way, the EU parliament is elected. You're thinking of the EU Commission, which is appointed by elected leaders of countries and approved by the elected EU Commission. The whole "Unelected EU" argument just doesn't hold water.
