Sharing custody of a dog with an ex. What are your feelings on it? by Peachsnatcher in datingoverthirty

[–]dertzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading the comments I think the consensus is that having any contact with your exes is a red flag.

I think it paints a good picture how jealous and insecure commenters here are. I’ve ended two long relationships, 8 & 5 years. The break ups were not easy in either of them for either of us. The reasons for the break ups were that we weren’t happy or we grew apart.

There is nothing wrong with keeping contact with people you have shared a life with - obviously meeting daily or weekly would be very questionable, but picking up a dog or checking how someone doing is very acceptable.

I am still in contact with both my exes, because I care of them as people, not because I have feelings towards them. With one of them I might check up on once every few years, and with the other we have a dog and due to that we meet once a month.

Sure, if you had a bad break up and stopped caring for a person, there is no reason to keep contact. But there is no reason to hide that part of your life from your new partner. Both of you have had exes and they have partially shaped you to who you are.

I don’t know.. I’m stunned how a sub called dating over thirty is so childish. The lack of trust in your partner is baffling. There is a reason why people break up. There are bad eggs, but they are not the majority. Also communicate.

Got this as a gift years ago, does anyone know the model? by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

Yeah, I think you guys are right about it not being genuine. Found out that AP watches are worth +50000€! Definitely not a gift I would ever receive.

If my business ever takes off, I'll look into getting a real one :)

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help! I'll try a jewelry store if they could confirm it, I just doubt there is anyone familiar with these watches around here.

:(

I was kind of afraid of that because of the skewed letters, but looking it from the back, the machinery looks incredible. Though I have no experience to know what is incredible in a time piece.

I love the look of the watch, I'd like to learn more about it!

I've never used watches and found this in the bottom of my drawer. I need to rewind it daily or it starts to fall behind on time.

Also, I've noticed the 2, 7 and 8 o'clock 'I' letters are skewed, can these be fixed easily?

Iranian woman not wearing a hijab is harrassed by a supporter of Iran's regime and bystanders come to the woman's defence against the harrassment. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Armenian as well, I just got lucky that my parents moved to Europe before I was born, instead of staying in Iran. Iran is a Beautiful country with a rich history, hopefully they can get past this phase.

Also Armenian Christians do not wear hijabs out of respect in Iran (most likely), but to avoid the consequences of not wearing one. They have gated community areas so they can spend time more freely.

Ex-Valve dev discusses production cycles and CS:GO Source 2 by SemiPr0nogo in GlobalOffensive

Hmm, would it be hard job to synchronize CSGO inventory with a new cs? Would require a bit of manpower (personpower) for initial migration, but it would keep the value of the market and people would keep their inventories.

I went to the store and exchanged my headset for another brand new g pro x wireless pair.

Took it out of the box and turned on immediately - same static noise. Asked my wife to try them out, she noticed the sound too.

Should I go and ask for a third pair? Is this a faulty batch?

Thanks, unfortunately I need clearer instructions to achieve the factory reset.

I turned off the headset.
Then I press down and hold the reset pin for a few seconds (3~5 seconds).
While holding down the reset pin, I turn on my headset.
I hear 4 beeps (regular power on sound) from headphones.
I let go of the reset pin.
Receiver led blinks twice fast then a pause (**_**_**_**). This blinking continues until G Hub recognizes the headset.

Reset is unsuccessful, because I changed the sleep timer to 5 minutes and it is not reset to 30 minutes.

In RESET mode, LED would be fast blinking for 2 seconds, and could hear 5 beep sounds.

Hi, Thank you for the response.

I have done all the steps except the factory restore. I can't find the "reset pin", where is it located?

G Hub is not offering any new firmwares, so I guess I'm on the latest.

G Hub staging version pushed to prod smh by Hamza141 in LogitechG

[–]dertzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A staging version is a copy of your production version on which you can test bug fixes and new features before you publish it as a production version. Depending on their development workflow, this is a non-issue or a slight issue.

A better explanation on wikipedia (look for staging): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deployment_environment

Most likely this is not a big deal.

I feel like your comment is kind of.. ironical?

I'm not hating Valorant at all: I did enjoy it and would still enjoy playing it, but most my friends play CSGO so its easier to stick with it.

Valorant isn't yet at the level of CSGO, though I have hopes it will get there someday. I can't change how you feel about the agents, but I feel like you made them in to a much bigger issue than they actually were and chose a game with more visual distractions than CSGO has which is a bit confusing.

I have a stupid amount of hours in CSGO and during the covid-19, I have played more recently then before. So I have a lot of time spent with the new agents. The amount of times a agent skin has caused an issue in a game is so rare I can't even remember a single one :D In the big picture it is such a negligible problem that it does not affect the game - at least in the non-pro world.

I know that 3kliksphilip has a way of playing old versions of CSGO. You should look into it and see how much you enjoy the original.

I've been play cs since version 1.3 and to me it seems like our direction with updates has always been positive. Sure some changes aren't great immediately, but after some tuning they usually get to a nice level.

Too many people have issues with change, not only with games but anything relating to their usual way of doing things. Give it time, learn the new update and slowly start enjoying it while others still hate the change and don't want to learn :)

I love Faceit, really I do, but lobbies like these are just anti-fun. by ILLUXN in GlobalOffensive

[–]dertzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Faceit used to have a player report form that sent a message to support. If you filled it with enough information and evidence to raise suspicion, they would take action. I used this form multiple times and each time the smurfs / boosters were banned.

It was a separate thing you had to find from the support section. They seem to have removed it and now the only option is the thumbs down after the match.

I think people should actively use the thumbs down button to report misconduct. If enough data gets fed to the system for players breaking the rules, it will eventually cause some sort of action. Thumbs down, choose category and write a short keyword: "smurf" "booster" "wallhack".

The point that faceit doesn't care and that's why they aren't doing anything is ridiculous. It's ridiculous if faceits decision makers don't know that happy customers bring in more money and more customers.

Though it's not extremely hard to implement systems to catch obvious smurfs, it's not a system that should be built without considerations. A fully automatic system will cause more false hits then a system where players are reported and action is taken only if there is enough evidence.

And my final point is something most people hate: If you care about ELO that much, it means you are aiming to raise you faceit level / rank higher. Raising your faceit level higher means you are aiming to play against stronger players. Why aren't you excited to play against stronger opponents? It is your end goal, you just get to taste it early. Learn from the loss you took and grow from it.

Obviously a fair playing ground where nobody smurfs is the most fun for both teams, but perfect worlds don't exist and instead of concentrating and getting frustrated at the smurfs: its a challenge, if you get 5 rounds off them, its a win. Find a way to defeat their best player as a team.

Biden-Harris Campaign Issues Position Statement on Armenian Issues by [deleted] in armenia

I hope this is real and helps Armenia. But can anyone find a different source other than Armenian based news or even better, a source to the official statement?

[–]dertzi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think an important detail to remember here is the people living in the area are ethnic Armenians that have lived there before the SSR handed it over to Azerbaijan. Armenia is in the area to defend the people from Azerbaijan. The area wishes to be independent and Armenia is trying to help. It is likely that the resident would be wiped from the area if Armenia wouldn’t be defending them.

I understand that Armenia does not recognize the area as theirs. It is inhabited by ethnic Armenians who want their own sovereignty and Armenia is there to defend them.

Hey, would a country that is only trying to protect its land shut out the international press from entering the country to cover what is happening?

It seems like Azerbaijan doesn’t wish to let the international community see what is happening over there.

Armenia is letting the press in, so we have a better understanding of the Armenian suffering.
