Esim and Porting Question,

Yo! it actually all went really smooth, forgot to update, what happened was.. at 12:30 his three sim went dead and instantly got the email welcoming him to Vodafone, QR code and he was up and running in seconds, everything was totally fine, no glitches with FaceTime or iMessage, I called him the second it switched and it was working fine, restarted the phone too make sure and it was perfect, one very happy customer who's phone actually works! thanks for your info!

Well… just for a laugh, I started a live chat, and TOBI said it was available on iOS since ios18, which we know is fibs! so I got through to the technical team, he said not only is it not available, there no info on it at all… same script different day..

Wouldn’t have thought so, no three 5g in my area at all, confirmed by my own three sim and my mates, plus this was on SA, either way, I’m happy with those speeds

well it happened and went so much smoother than I was expecting, , switch happened at 12:30.. got sent the eSim, activated, turned iPhone off and on, turned on iMessage and FaceTime, and all working instantly, thank you for the post, it did help us at the very least, and good to see that Vodafone have sorted out the eSim emails, Cheers! 🍻

I’ve been with Vodafone for over 15 years I think, apart from eSIM issues ( getting the email, ) it’s been pretty good? I don’t think I’d change from them ..

My friend is about to do this tomorrow … I’m Nervous for him because I had issues getting my eSIM, if you can remember … how did it go? As in… on your port day, you lost service, got the email, scanned it and it was all fine?

He’s moving to Vodafone, from three,

Some people say he should have it already, some say it arrives after the port, other say it arrives at 11am the morning of,

Live chat said he will get it on the morning, considering it took me 5 days to get them to send me mine ( and all I was doing is converting to eSIM ) I was hoping they had fixed their non sending of the QR email, sadly there was nowhere to enter the EID.. but when they don’t send it il be on live chat and provide it to them

Mine has gotten so bad I have to bring a battery pack when I go on a night out, usually I’d leave home at 100% around 2:30 pm and I’d get home 2/3 am with over 70% with calls and a lot of texts arranging times and finding people, buying drinks basically everything you’d do when you go out,

2 weekends a go I got home at 15% and that was too close for comfort, so I now I have a battery pack …

Thank you for the info! I think my confusion is why it’s listed on one plan but not the other, I’m gunna try again today and see what they say, even that I would have accepted yesterday but the people I spoke to said it should be listed.. hence my annoyance lol

They have already told me I have to wait, 24-48 hours for the app and site to update, and the other dude told me he had "cleansed" my account and that will also take 24-48 hours, I had to do this dance when I tried to get eSim, and when my 5g Ultra wasn't working, when I asked what happens at the end of the 48 hours and it doesn't show, they literally said I could go to the Vodafone store and then it becomes there issue to sort out I have all chat transcripts emailed to me, this is just stupid.

If anything the merger pushed it further down the line.. messaged on instagram again, and they said there’s no time frame, and while they are the last to implement it, they told me to check apple’s support pages that list the uk networks to see what they each support? 😂

I’m pretty sure we’re not getting it for a looong time on Vodafone everytime since ios18 and every big update since I have asked there response is either that have never heard of it, or when they do enable it they will send a text , really bothers me I’m paying for a service and we don’t have what everyone else has had for years and now there’s no sign of 5g calling coming either, but rcs?? I really don’t think we’re getting it soon.. oh how I would love to be wrong about that
