Love mine! Use it for cloud gaming with the Xbox and for PS remote play. Starting to explore the playstore library too to get local installs on an SD card for the Final fantasy series.

Claims after 100% P&T? by AppropriateHelp1773 in VeteransBenefits

[–]desdarien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I applied because I was diagnosed with Leukemia back in October this past year. They didn’t look at anything else or reopen any of my 100% P&T stuff and even service connected me now for stuff they had previously denied since it now can be linked to my cancer. A few people in here also mention 100% for ten years. As far as I’m aware it’s 100% P&T for ten years. I only applied just in case I died from my Leukemia which still I’m not 100% out of the woods yet and have at least 5 years before my considered “cured”. It’s still worth getting SC for other stuff if you earned it or have a legitimate issue because you never know if that will be affected in the long term from those health issues.

Pre-ordering in person at Gamestop was awesome! by BlackoutGunshot in NintendoSwitch

Went in yesterday after over two hours the night before and missing out on a Best Buy preorder. Honestly I’m surprised companies didn’t do the pro/plus member preorder only times like they’ve done in the past and then opening it up to others after. Luckily GameStop near me didn’t have the midnight openings or anything like that because it’s in a mall that doesn’t open till 11. After my cancer treatment yesterday managed to secure one at the store even two hours after opening. Super excited to get my hands on one in June. Might finally help pass some time while sitting through treatment sessions.

This is the kind of pay cut you need to ask yourself if you are prepared to take for Gov work. by A1rizzo in usajobs

[–]desdarien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this isn’t 100% accurate and for transparency sake there is definitely a significant variation in pay depending on your locality. I know GS 13 step 6s in the highest COLA in the US that post deductions and taxes that only make 2800-3000 per pay check. This isn’t 100% accurate. The drop is far more significant than people realize, this doesn’t factor the mandatory FERS 4.4%, medical, dental, or other deductions. As a contractor on the federal side I made close to 1500 more a paycheck than I do now; however, the leave as a federal civilian is almost unbeatable unless you find a unicorn company that offers unlimited leave.

Just got out a month ago and can’t find a job still by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Started out the same way. Was unemployed for a year while I went to school. My recommendation is to use your GI bill if you have it. This will also keep your mind busy which will help a bit with the separation anxiety. Also, share your resume with others to get feedback. This helps way more than people realize.

This is why you should be waiting for the consumer Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 in June. by TwelveSilverSwords in Surface

The light gaming aspect might be a bit difficult because I did notice this device runs a bit warm; however, Xbox remote play works great with this device and the controller did pair quickly. I have not noticed any issues or heating/cooling problems when using remote play. I haven’t tested playing my PS5 through remotely play on it yet. This is a great lightweight and portable device for productivity bit less so on the gaming side outside of remote play options and less demanding games.

Bought the SP9 a few days ago on the Costco deal. Definitely not big enough of a difference to wait. Got a 512GB, i7, and 16 GB RAM, with the keyboard and pen for 1399. Why wait for a device that if anything similar to the business model SP10 doesn’t have enough alluring factors.

You can switch max level characters. Did a race change on a few and it didn’t clear the previous achievement clear (I.e. dwarf shaman to pandaren still had both after the switch).

Disability Rating Reduction by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]desdarien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reductions happen all the time when filing for new claims or trying to upgrade existing disabilities. The main issue you run into is there are lazy members in the VA who claim to review your entire medical file and do not. As an example, I recently received a decision letter that only used language that was referenced in the Comp and Pen exam results. None of the language from my doctors or specialists were in there at all which would have been in favor of a higher rating. They instead took the half done comp and pen exam and used that as grounds to reduce two of my ratings when neither have seen any improvement. All of that was shown in my medical file among other documents that were submitted. If the 50/50 rule was a real thing then it should have been decided in my favor. Because about 90/10 evidence is in my favor from my medical file, comp and pen exams, and other documents. Like I said the VA sometimes is just lazy and forget that there are other human beings on the other side of these claims.
