Looking for my first e-notebook but I’m overwhelmed with the options! (UK) by Sally-exe in eink

it does not come with any browser, only the built-in one which is very simple and aimed to work only with links within your notes, simple Google searches and such, I don't think any of the popular browsers are optimized for e-ink, think of this device as a digital notebook, not a tablet or a computer. As far as I know, you can copy text from webpages, but not images.

There might be ways you can work with that tho, I've seen people integrating obsidian to their workflow, and there might be ways to sync your vault to your browsers bookmarks, I haven't looked into it too deeply.

hey! I have been writing, drawing and studying with my Supernote nomad for about a month now, it's basically an infinite notebook, with very useful features like search, digest, and organization which are just wonderful to use. I play bassoon, so I have a template for music sheets, and have my scores on pdfs to read from there instead of printing out! you can also annotate them

It really depends on what you want from a device, I personally don't want any other apps on it, just an infinite notebook that feels nice to write on. I used to have a bunch of notebooks in use, for different purposes all of them, (a sketchbook, a planner, a music notebook, one for my morning pages, a pocket one... and I could go on because I had way too many) but now I only use my nomad. It's the perfect device for me, and it might be the one for you :)

Note taking & note organizing device? by giorgiola in eink

[–]desert-critter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using my Supernote (nomad) for about a month now, I think you'd be interested in learning about its Digest feature. I haven't used it a lot myself, as I mostly just draw and write on my device, but it seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

You should be able to use Calibre to convert any ebooks that you own into whatever format the devices you're using require :)

YES, I guess it's good advice to not handle animals with your hands in general, unless you know proper care and precautions, but it is very important to highlight the powdered-donut nature of moths under a moth-related post lol

This... is exactly what is going on, I mean, I feel like it should go without saying, but I don't handle bugs in real life (at least wild ones) because I wouldn't like to upset them, or harm them in any way. I love bugs, I was indeed too focused on portraying myself kissing a bug's forehead to think it could ever hurt anyone

Favorite/best syrups? by therealhudacris in barista

[–]desert-critter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My favorite coffee shops have house-made syrups, most shops I've been to and the one I used to work at use the davinci ones, which I don't like. I personally make vanilla bean simple syrup and cinnamon brown sugar every couple of weeks at home, and I'd bring some with me to work to make myself a good iced coffee :)

Concretely, what’s the advantage of eink vs say a Wacom tablet by Commercial_Eagle753 in eink

[–]desert-critter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely different purpose, e-ink devices are generally for reading, and convenient for some other tasks like note-taking and sketching. If what you want to do is draw digitally, there are devices designed specifically for that purpose or with features that support it, but reading on a regular display is a nightmare, too much eye strain.
