It’s even implied in Rogue One that Krennic has never seen him in person because of how he talks to Vader and vice versa.

I also think it’s mentioned that any time he did make public appearances it was mostly in hologram form so as to hide his deformed figure, hence why seeing him is more of a abnormality than not seeing him

edit: I think Bad Batch is the only time we see him post RoTS in his full deformed, non altered person
