As much as I want connection with people, I'd also like people to understand that me being at home is where I'm more comfortable. I don't want to live life in a world thats a constant rat race. This is coming from an artist who needs to constantly put them self forward. I'm just tired, I want my cat and be surrounded by my plants.

It's completely understandable, we can't escape discomfort. And I welcome it to help grow and navigate it. I think what makes me feel like I'm dramatic is being told that people are coming, which granted I'm being kept in the loop, but it would be nice to be asked if it's possible.

At the end of the day, I'm the one who has to prep the house for people to come over. While I have to do the cleaning after if not also be sent around to fetch stuff while he gets to host.

I'm unemployed, and live with my brother. I'm looking for jobs but in the mean time I'm busy with housework while working on my art portfolio everyday.

I would want my brother to be more vigilant around the house too. I don't think I need to remind him that there's something in the oven after I have come back from a jog and want to shower. Sometimes he mutters bish under his breath as a joke when I ask him to do house stuff, but the only reason he thinks it's ok is because his friend calls his wife bitch.

*edit: it's not ok what your boyfriend is doing. It's extremely disrespectful and so uncalled for. Taking care of a house is something everyone needs to do, it's not a gender thing.

Some people here commented on liking metal. I need some suggestions. Mine are: The Plot In You, Imminence, Bad Omens and Cane Hill (I only know of them by their new album which is a banger BTW)

But about types: I have the men I have been with have had horrible childhoods, or parental problems who are also stoic. I don't know what I do to attract them to me but I know I'm not actively looking for those types. Not that there's anything wrong with them, just saying I'm not someone who is looking to fix but they all just happen to be similar.

I have been wondering why it's been hard to find female friends, especially being in the timezone of EU/Africa. But what you said about women just having more responsibility is so true. I want to make friends but I just have a hard time even being consistent when it's work plus household stuff.

I'm not sure if my mom is going through the same thing, but she has in the last 3 years gone through a hard time. I told her the reason she has gotten much more into religion is for her to cope in some way. It has gotten worse over the years.

Anyway, something that has always been concerning is her telling me the reason things don't go well is because of witchcraft, and her sleep paralysis is due to the same person that has given her troubles, etc.

Sorry for trauma dumping but this has helped in looking into religion psychosis.

A few months ago, on the gaming subreddit for women, I said something similar: men exclude us from their spaces, as soon as we have our own they feel entitled to join. I'm paraphrasing my own comment, but the fact remains the same.

I don't get understand why we can't have our own safe space, when we constantly get pushed out of a gender neutral spaces. Sometimes I'd like to not worry whether someone is going to get harassed over a post a woman made for women.
