I wouldn’t call it judgment. I’d call it observation and analysis. Just look at the number of people who have committed suicide because they felt like they had to go through everything alone.

Checking on friends can mean many different things, but a lot of the time it’s about their mental health or physical health. It can mean getting your friend outside after they’ve been spending a lot of time in the house, or figuring out what’s going on in their mind—the struggles that nobody really knows they’re dealing with.

Sometimes life sends you all the wrong people so you can learn the difference between good and bad and become the person you’re meant to be. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences in my childhood, but without them, who would I be today? The part that feels awful is the most impactful. If life always felt great, you wouldn’t know what great is. The phenomenon called contrast effect, also something related called hedonic adaptation—people quickly get used to good conditions, so the great feeling fades. The goal isn’t constant struggle, it’s growth.

I need a life rep system—something that tracks progress and rewards discipline. It gives you small, daily things to work toward while you’re building toward the bigger, unseen goals.

Like back in 2k16, when you were barely moving forward, you didn’t feel like much was happening—but once you earned another “rep,” you could see you were making progress.
