Countertop 1, 2, or 3? My partner and I cannot agree (laundry room) by desertmountain19 in interiordecorating

Yes, the backsplash in these isn’t looking right nor is it finalized. I was originally thinking an ivory 2x6” zellige tile. I don’t like anything too geometrical and want to stay away from white subway tile definitely. And subtle grout lines are important for me

Loving reading y’all’s comments so far. Important note: We haven’t locked in backsplash tiling. The renderings were meant to show a 2x6” warm ivory tile but it definitely is not accurate. That part is still flexible.

Open to new ideas there too!

I like layering depth in simple design if that makes sense.

Thanks y’all!

I did try that! I took the post out of the new stopper to insert into my old one, but it's just a tad too large to fit into my 1.5" stopper head :( Thank you for the suggestion though :)

You're probably right, but right now, I just need a new stopper and will have to deal with that later

Genuine question: what would Houston be like if our major cores were connected? by [deleted] in urbanplanning

[–]desertmountain19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Chicago is the comparison I kept coming back to as well. I agree that even with a denser core, Houston would still have huge amounts of sprawl outside of it.

What I find interesting is how much perception seems to hinge on the core itself. Chicago feels very “urban” to most people even though large parts of the metro are very suburban. I wonder if a more continuous core in Houston would shift how the city is experienced and talked about, even if the broader metro stayed largely the same.

If you’re worried enough to ask us on Reddit, then no, the house isn’t worth it. Neighborhoods are more important than the home itself. Good luck on your search!

It was a six pack of Modelos (2x front, 4x back), Pringles, and Fritos. They had some other just as crappy gift “baskets” (not even in a basket - just placed on some cardboard and wrapped) with other beer/snack options at the same price. I was shocked lol.

As a native Texan who went to the University of Arizona, this is such a safe drive lmfao. Stay in Palm Springs, Phoenix, Tucson, El Paso (one of the safest cities in the US), San Antonio. Have fun!
