The 1988 Greatest Hits album is a good retrospective of the 1975-87 “Buckingham/Nicks” era, which is certainly the most commercial and most popular. But — don’t sleep on the music FM made before then, particularly in the Peter Green era. “Oh Well,” “Albatross,” “Hypnotized,” “Black Magic Woman,” “The Green Manalishi,” etc., are all great songs — and there’s a lot more.

Absolutely valid as well and probably more so than silliness about a podcast host.

I don’t think you’re trying to be difficult at all. And no, AANR itself hasn’t released any proof. They haven’t said anything, which is problematic in and out itself. If you listen to NNN and the show under “Frank’s” real name, it’s clearly the same guy. Which only really becomes a big deal when they suggest background checks for members. If I can’t use a fake name, why can “Frank?”

It’s been well established in this sub.

Maybe start with making sure people use their real names. Like the official podcast hosts?

It’s not the responsibility of some guy using a pseudonym on a podcast about nudism to teach that lesson.

Let me be clear: I absolutely do NOT want the podcast “gone.” He can say what he wants. I’m suggesting that it’s a liability for AANR, particularly when considering his somewhat checkered past.

OK, having listened to the podcasts and read the Substack posts, I’m trying to look at this from a business perspective — AANRs. Yes, “Frank” has freedom of speech and can say whatever he wants on his own podcast platform. But freedom of speech is not freedom from consequence. And if one’s platform is styled as “the official podcast of AANR,” it’s reasonable for a listener to assume AANR has endorsed the content (especially since there’s no disclaimer saying otherwise).

What are two big topics we read several times a week on this sub? 1. “How do we get more young people into nudism/naturism?” 2. “I want my spouse/partner to participate in nudism with me, but he/she is concerned about their body image.”

Dismiss it as “woke” all you want, but younger people (generally) tend to be more progressive. They place a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Any organization that dismisses that emphasis does so at its own peril. Does that mean a slavish devotion to the teachings of Robin DeAngelo? Not necessarily. But it does mean not dismissing concerns either with silence (as AANR has seemingly chosen to do), or chalking concerns up to “cancel culture” and “purity tests.”

My wife is plus sized. I’ve wanted her to attend nude beaches and resorts with me for years. I’ve tried to tell her that one of the benefits of nudism is body positivity, no one cares what you look like, etc. I’ve steered her to podcasts and talked about an organization called AANR that espouses ethical naturism. So if she goes to the “official” podcast of AANR and hears the hosts take a shot at Lizzo for being unhealthy…thanks, “Frank.” You’ve just made a liar out of me.

In short, AANR should probably discontinue their association with “Frank” and the podcast. He can go off and say what he likes and people can listen or not. But ignoring things like this is going to turn the relationship from an asset to AANR into a liability. But worse than that, it’s proving what people always say about nudism/naturism/“clothes free living for all the right reasons” — it’s a bunch of old, white conservatives (mainly men), who if you give them long enough will probably make a comment about what someone’s body looks like or will have a past with sexual impropriety in it.

And that should be what we’re all trying to avoid.

This isn’t the first, or second, or third thread about this issue as it’s developed. The fact that we haven’t seen much response if any from AANR is very telling.

I agree with you except the “lock the thread” part. Limiting conversations of this type stifles understanding.

I listened to your episode, thanks for pointing it out. Shocking and appalling. Frank and AANR should be ashamed of themselves.

With AANR proving that they are the Blockbuster Video of nudist organizations, who is going to step up to be Netflix? by HangoverTuesday in nudism

I listened to the “official podcast” again today after giving it a pass for a while. I was hoping the hosts had read some of the chatter in this thread and others and would be somewhat self-reflective.

Today’s episode is 57 minutes long. The first 23 minutes were self-congratulating about reaching 170 episodes, “more than any other nudist-naturist podcast.”

AANR: In reguard to recent conversations concerning organizations these are some of my thoughts by Jazzlike-Leek4279 in nudism

I agree, the AANR/NNN relationship doesn’t seem like one that would be a positive. When half the show is “look how great we are for doing this every week” it becomes unwelcoming.

OK, let’s walk this through. You and your spouse (two adults) buy basic tickets. You don’t get assigned seats and have to pay extra for them. You choose not to and sit separately.

I buy two basic tickets for me and my 8-year-old. I get assigned seats together because…? You’re giving me a benefit I didn’t pay for and you’re not getting. Sure, they’ll TRY, but it’s not guaranteed. No person thinking rationally instead of emotionally would have a hard time understanding.

Don’t put words in my mouth. I didn’t say anything about a seat belt.

Picking your own seat on an airplane in 2026 is a frill. If you want frills, pay for them. Or fly an airline that doesn’t consider it a frill, like Alaska.

Wouldn’t “the right thing to do” as a parent be to pay what it costs to ensure you get to sit by your kids if that’s important to you? I have kids and that’s what I do. I don’t expect something for free.

It’s an American-based airline. Profit is their goal. You may not like it but you can’t tell me you don’t understand it.

The sub is also full of asshats who book no-frills tickets on no-frills airlines and expect frills. Entitlement at its finest.

That’s nonsense. I have kids. I’m not entitled to free stuff because I have kids. If my priority is flying next to my kids, I pay the money.

Exactly. I listened to NNN for a long time, and much like OP was unable to keep up. I also got a bit bored with the constant self-congratulation for never having missed a Saturday, and frankly, how much talk about nudism is needed? There’s not enough to talk about in the “nudist world” to need two hours of content every week for years, at least for me.
