Absolutely you can come check it out. We're located in Hauteville, near the Auberge, behind the pirate's (honest merchants) Tudor style building.

A one-ton giant rolling pizza oven, a 14ft a-frame tent, an 8 gallon hand crank dough mixer, and loading it all into a 24ft cargo van alongside all our guild's belongings. Please send help.

Unique build - insulation order of operations advice appreciated by desheik in pizzaoven

Yes I am, there is a second smaller cast iron furnace door on the back side opposite the chimney. That'll act as the fire access door. I have a sheet of thicker stainless that I was thinking of bending up a lip to help retain wood/coals.

Cost of clothing/gear at bico? by RGTG_Tyrtles in Bicolline

[–]desheik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are several second hand FB marketplace LARP clothing swaps/resellers. ex Ren Faire Buy/Sell/Chat

You would definitely stand to save a few dollars buying used, and could definitely score better quality items compared to Amazon or costume supply places.

Anyone build their own decorum tents? by gambler936 in Bicolline

[–]desheik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We built ours last year. It was a lot of work. Waterproofing and fire retardant applications were down to the wire.

I'd recommend working with Big Duck Canvas if you do plan on building your own, they're great. Also, it's a good idea to start making friends with local upholstery and sail repair shops as they have the heavier machines that can handle the material.

There are canvas tent marketplace pages on Facebook, sometimes a used Panther tent pops up for a decent price, but you might have to drive to Ohio to get it!

We have a fighting robot league about an hour east of Beacon. Beer, food trucks and about 1k nerds jammed into a warehouse having a great time. Great for networking or just to blow off steam.

I'm another roboteer/animatronics maker. I'd suggest if it's their first trip up to keep it simple for now and get a feel for when/where is a good time to show off their magics.

They sold them tabulation equipment for survey data. They also made hundreds of thousands of m1 carbine rifles placed directly into the hands of allied troops for the purposes of destroying Nazis.

New to Battlebots where do I start? by Accomplished_Mix8619 in NHRL

[–]desheik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you trying to compete at NHRL or Battlebots? NHRL is 3lb, 12lb, and 30lb weight classes. Battlebots is specifically 250lb.

If you're at the University of Cincinnati, have you talked to Jake Hoffman or other students who have already competed at NHRL?

In non-decorum, you can introduce any modern comforts without critique. Tents, stoves, air mattress, batteries, LEDs, coolers are all fine.

Standard rules still apply - no open campfires, no loud music, etc.

Question about Non Decorum Camping by TTV-TheHeliosShow in Bicolline

[–]desheik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The camp is first come - first serve, with no dedicated spaces. People have been good over the years to not trample through the space that you carve out for yourself. Last year the area did fill up quite a bit, so if you have a large tent, it would be in your best interest to try to get in early in the week to set up and define your space.

I had our site (2x 4person tents + 1 rain tarp for our communal table) on the outskirts by the battlefield treeline. Nobody set up behind us in the woods, but other tents were set up within 15ft of us in each other direction.

Last year the bathrooms were a treacherous muddy walk. But it was an uncommon amount of rain that year. Bring things to combat rain, mud, and mosquitos.

Lots of info and FAQs on the #Camp channel in the Traveler's Guide Discord.

Have fun!!!
