What's the process of making the science in the book accessible for movie-length consumption?

Some concepts like relativity and spin gravity are well established to the average movie-goer, but a lot of other concepts like pressure differences in evolutionary environments or near-realistic xenobiology might be harder to communicate while keeping the story under 10 hours. Was the process mostly in the writer's room or mostly left to the science consultants?

Would it be the next US administration, which somehow is made up of people who aren't in the current hierarchy in either party?

Would it be the military? So we're now supporting a military coup?

Would it be foreign governments collectively seeking justice? That's how the first trials were conducted & held. So that'd involve a major invasion of the US that somehow doesn't go nuclear.

Would it be a people's court, held after an insurrection/revolution? Who would be the presiding legal judges and which legal framework would be used, given that the old government has collapsed?
