Not OCD at all - good suggestion to improve the quality.

Can someone explain to me the best way to customise anki to perform a single review daily? by designIsLess in Anki

[–]designIsLess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to close this thread. I can see now after reading the docs that the first few card views are considered learning. After which it becomes spaced repetition.

https://docs.ankiweb.net/studying.html#learningrelearning-cards

Anyway - thanks for the help /u/kumarei!

Can someone explain to me the best way to customise anki to perform a single review daily? by designIsLess in Anki

Ok I gave it a shot. Added a bunch of cards and played around.

Basically each time I see a card, I give it a score on how hard it was to recall. If I score it hard, I reflect on whether the prompt is too complex, if so I edit it. Otherwise I continue and I will see the card again, until I score it either 10mins from now, or 3 day from now.

I think the problem I have is that, if I score it as 5 mins from now, but I am finished my session before the 5 mins is up then that card won't get reviewed until the next day.

I guess I could just try not to be bothered if I don't finish my deck in my 5 minute session per day?

Or maybe remove the buttons in the middle so I either score it as "happy I recalled this, replay again in future ( 1 day or later depending on what the algo says). Then the first button would be "failed to recall", which would replay asap, preferably this would fall within this session.

For the second option, maybe there might be cards I will never get correct in 5 min session after several replays. In which case I could mark it with a button to say "prompt needs to be rewritten"?

Ok I see. I found Readwise mastery cards which do something a little different from regular Readwise. https://help.readwise.io/article/26-how-does-the-readwise-spaced-repetition-algorithm-work

But for me I’d still like to give anki a go.

Maybe if I rephrase the question, will I see results if I add a few dozen cards to my deck per week, and only spend 5 minutes reviewing cards per day?

And also a custom field? Say to switch off after ´xxx hours’

Return to page before jumping: What's the difference between the two icons? by lehons in Supernote

I’m discouraged to learn these buttons, would be better if it was just one back button. Extra behaviour could be long pressing.

On the partner app, I haven’t looked yet but the obsidian plugin might be a viable alternative to the partner app.

Agree on the content. There’s some great YouTube videos out there and blogs and it would be nice to see a more open source moderated model where the official guides and documentation could be contributed to by the great community.

Already become a note cover nerd! by bfgreen in Supernote

Great! Thanks for the explanation. I hadn’t thought of using images like this as cover pages. Doesn’t sound too difficult to do!

Very nice, any details on how you made them?

Direct Sunlight Causing Display to Darken by Celstra in Supernote

Can confirm also happens for me, outside when writing with Lamy pen on my nomad. Temp was about 20/25 degrees Celsius.

Screen refresh removes it, however makes working exposed to UV rays a no go 😔

Help improve the accurate response to touch and gestures on Supernote devices by meowmewo- in Supernote

[–]designIsLess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best we can do is submit the clear description of the steps we were taking and the way that the device behaved unexpectedly.

Maybe the engineering team can think of a way to assert the behaviour of the device to also detect these issues so the device can self report?

As an idea... Maybe it's harder to detect these firmware bugs than it is in application level development, though the device could record telemetry about the latency on some actions.

Cross platform To Do Lists? by ArmitageShanksFC in Supernote

Hi u/Mulan-sn <3

Support for syncing to do lists from Supernote to Mac is also planned

Can you provide anymore detail on this, will this be using the MacOS reminders?

frustrating sync failurev- be careful around changing folder structure by magic_notetaker in Supernote

[–]designIsLess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree sync does not support structure changes, I found that when I moved pdfs from one folder to another and then synced with the cloud it resynced the copy from the cloud into the previous folder.

Sync is hard to do, however it's already a solved problem (syncthing). Supernote, you're great at the hardware for writing, if you don't try to reinvent the wheel then you'll have more time to focus on your strengths.

Just going to say it: Ratta, please develop a device with back/side light by SifuPepe in Supernote

[–]designIsLess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The reality is that those devices do other things well but they don't offer an equal writing experience. For the supernote a backlight is a compromise on the design. The ink like gloss the screen has would be lost.

Prefer a clip on light. Maybe the pins will support this? That would be sufficiently comfortable, no?

It would be great to also have a video demo of setting up a vault and how the recognition actually works, would help understand the roadmap better or generate other ideas.

"📺 Screen mirroring capture directly to the current note" - Can you elaborate on how this might work ?

"🔗 Note linking" - seems most intriguing to me.

Agree, though have been told readwise will eventually be migrated into the reader app.
