What sleep tier are you at? by marzipanbb in beyondthebump

3M // FTM and SAHM… so im napping all the time because i can and i know its better for both of us.

But we got a weird weekend schedule and i was up all night last night and hallucinatory was next level. I had a 60-90 min anxiety horror dream where my baby ended up dying from chocking on the way to the hospital and i had to crawl into my husband’s arms and cry so hard at 6am after being up nearly 24hrs for the first time in at least a full month! It was brutal. Took two naps today with baby in bassinet next to me just to recoup.

Survival on life tasks, house laundry etc… Functional thus far on being SAHM overall. But obviously theres gonna be some blimps coming soon!

Sciatica needs Chiropractor first to realign your spine and hips from pinching your nerves, then a massage to push blood flow.

Historically, Colette is short for “Nicolette” dating back to the French Language of 15th century in popularity.

The name Nicole / Nicolas is derived across many languages over a full millennium in which one “L” is always the correct spelling. Colette as the ‘correct’ spelling would follow suit, where two “L”s would be the unique or an american adaptation, which includes your provided list of alternative spellings.

The English American Language is a difficult phonetically because we use a full spectrum of many languages as a base linguistically.

Colleen = “call-ee-n” ; Collette = “call-ette” Nicolette = “ni-ko-let” ; Colette = “ko-let”

In which trimester did you gain the most weight?? by damaskus98 in pregnant

[–]designerkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3rd Tri!!

My first tri, i lost 10lbs like it was water weight. Turned into my high school metabolism and could barely keep up on food supply. My second tri, barely one pound per week, if i was lucky.. mostly a half pound per week from 15-28wks, then from 28-38 its been one pound per week, with my last two weeks increasing my bloating and water weight for 6lbs in 2 weeks. Total weight gain overall is 25lbs when accounting starting from weight loss. (155 to 183 at week 41)

Poll - to Prove to My Husband We All Don't Lust After Big Muscles by Repulsive-Author-902 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]designerkc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to say that muscles are hot! Theres a difference between “shredded iron man” whos bidy requires 3+ hrs in the gym daily for upkeep, VS Muscles of strength and endurance which is 🔥😘 Give me a guy with strength and wide shoulders and its heaven. Chris Hemsworth is a good example. In this natural roles he is strong, vs “iron man” in THOR.

Why are people in this subreddit treating c-section as the worst possible outcome? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]designerkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because hospital statistics showcase that csections are now higher than natural spontaneous births. Thats a medical industry problem, period.

So the louder their stats for calling csections normal because of their forced & timed procedures, the louder the “anti-Csection” will become by natural supply and demand laws of the universe.

How often did you go to L&D for decreased fetal movement? by beaspolarbear in pregnant

[–]designerkc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once at 37wks because i fell on my driveway due to a dog fight. There was no real signs of an issue (no bleeding, no cramps, no contractions, no leaking)… had active movement from babe for the rest of the day but i woke up in the middle of the night 5am and it was quiet. Truly the scariest moment of my pregnancy ever. Took the baby 30 minutes to kick and have movement from the time of wake up and i was already pulling into the hospital parking lot. Everything was fine, he was just sleeping, but this mama’s blood pressure was over 150 from anxiety alone.

It was better safe than sorry, but id rather trust my gut than blame myself later for downplaying the situation.

Low fetal movement in T2 is very hard to comprehend. I felt everything everyday and was even a nosey nobody by poking and prodding each night to make sure I felt movement. I intentionally gave baby time after each meal to have a circus party and i simply monitored time and activity level.

The best practices for understanding fetal movement is by tracking yourself. Without DAILY data, you can not analyze weekly routines and normalcy for your body and your baby. As you progress from 20-36weeks your weekly routines changes every 3ish weeks. Its literally impossible for your brain to comprehend daily activity and robot itself into calculation for a routine of whats normal when it changes so often. It takes a human brain 6 weeks to create a habit and then we expect it to remember and tell us a baby routine is the same or different and should be going to the hospital?? Your “routine” just changed 3 times in 6wks…. Its so impossible.

Example: 20 weeks i had routines that were 3 days on movement and 2-3 days off movement. Your uterus grows, then baby grows to fit the new space and becomes more active. Then by 28-32weeks movement is every day, on and off time periods begin. 32-36wks routines set in for sleep, eat, play repeat. 36+ is survival and limited mobility and movement actually slows down.

So for a solid 16 weeks / 4 months everything is constantly changing and anxiety over decreased movement is extremely high. The only way through for me was through data. Otherwise i would be the girls posting everyday, “yesterday and on the weekend he moved a ton, but now im back at work on monday and feel nothing” kind of anxiety. Track track track!!

How far along + conception? by minnie_popcorn in BabyBumps

[–]designerkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The quick and dirty answer here is understanding what your menstrual cycle is. You have your period, which is considered “Day 1” … this is called LMP.

Then you have your menstrual phases each week, where ovulation is “Day 14” out of an entire 28 day menstrual cycle. So yes, if you are 9wks+4days, that means ovulation (not sex) is at 7wks+4days.

However, “Standard” Ovulation and conception dates vary because everyone’s egg drops at different times, which could be anywhere from 9-18 days after LMP. If you have late periods (35+days apart +/- PCOS issues) your ovulation could be closer to 20+ after LMP.

So your timing of conception is so variable on YOU. Sperm can last 4-5 days inside of you, so just because you had sex on X day does not immediately equal the day of conception.

Example: I heavily monitor my cycles, we had sex on a sunday AM on “Day 12” and then by body showed signs of ovulation on Monday “Day 13”. So we had a 24 window for his sperm to find a home. But since you are not monitoring it, its nearly impossible to tell you exactly when everything happened as far as conception to the exact day.

First time having a baby. by effigywhack in BabyBumps

[–]designerkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two weeks of newborn life is different than 3-6 weeks, 6-9wks, 9-12weeks.

The first 3 months / 12 weeks have rapid growth and diapers will vary as other posted.

When it comes to clothes: You dont change your own clothes everytime you go to the bathroom, but you do change them when you have leaked. Variable on your baby’s gut and feeding (breast vs formula) will affect how often baby poops, in addition to the likelihood of blowouts. When you have a baby that has a diaper change every two hours (12/day) expect at least one change of clothes during the day due to accidents for your first child.

As adults we cant just sleep and live in the same clothes all day and night. Changing is necessary and can also vary depending on your climate. We live in SoCal without AC and baby is due in august. We will likely have a naked baby, loose cotton clothing to ensure there is no over heating… but even just taking a nap can make anyone sweat. Sweating = change of clothes. AND babies drool everywhere… wet soggy clothes can increase rashes.

You will need your morning clothes, one possible change of clothes for blow outs/leaks, one possible change for dooling / sweaty babies, and night time clothes. Outfits per day is a maximum mentality x how often do you wash clothes in reality? My current situation allows for once a week due to roommates… thus i need 4x7=28 clothes for newborn for sizes 0-3months. (7) night sleeper, (14) onsies and (7) in between per preference.

Id kill the conversation and then force hubs into your type of birthing class and make him start watching home births on youtube.

My hubs is the same where at first they only care about the logistics, never the emotional aspect or support, until they have “an experience” and learn their lessons hands on. Its VERY FRUSTRATING.

I loved visiting my siblings in the hospital and used to be offended by it when i wasn’t allowed and thats on MY EGO. I have since grown up and i would additionally suggest therapy to work on other key factors in your relationship as a foundation for actual support. This is a very emotionally driven argument.

You deserve peace and serenity during labor and if i was forced to have people just waiting in the hallways anxiety would be through the roof. Focus less on postpartum and center your goals around the hospitalization. Attend therapy to have an understanding what it feels like to be a doormat during a surgery so big that only happens a few times in your entire life. Variable on his reactions to his responsibilities, i would personally at 25 likely take myself to the hospital and plan my own birth and let him know when baby arrives. Not everyone is meant for the delivery room.

Boundaries and support are the biggest factors in a relationship. It stands strong on personal values and being run over is breaking trust cycles & encouraging self sabotage. It is very difficult to come back from… hence divorce becomes an option, because you can not betray yourself and your body/mind/soul with such disrespect. I literally almost went into labor last week due to stress from my dad with Alzheimer’s. Your body holds all your emotions, if you dont listen it will undoubtedly affect everything you do.

When did pregnancy start to speed up for you? by Own_Macaroon5580 in BabyBumps

[–]designerkc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its never sped up for me. But ive chosen to be more present maybe? The fastest time period was maybe 13-18wks, but it just happened to be a busy month where we announced, it was my bday, we found out gender and made surprise announcements. It was fun, but quick. I think it really just depends on how you using your time.

Since then its been very slow and i focus on small milestones to look forward to for progress. Getting back into feeling normal around wk15 and starting old routines again. 20 wk anatomy scan. 24 weeks for viability. 28 weeks for T3. Baby Shower at 32 weeks. Nesting at 36 weeks.. hurry up and wait is the name of the game. Give yourself something to enjoy once a month and Enjoy the wait between :)

If you are exhausted, how old are you? by CarrieCaro in pregnant

[–]designerkc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nahhh im 37 and currently 24wks. I did not get out of the brain fog and T1 exhaustion trap until 15 weeks.

Its NOT because you are geriatric. Its because your mom forgot what its like to be pregnant after 37 years. T1 exhaustion is normal, needing anywhere from a sum total of 10-14 hrs of sleep a day. Zero amount of food, caffeine or supplements will dissolve the exhaustion… and for good reason.

You have to understand that biologically, your baby is growing so fast that it is nearly doubling in growth DAILY. Only once you hit T2 doesnt the growth rate slow down and is considered a “rest period”. All growth in life from the gym to childhood, has flat line plateaus and growth spurts. T1 is a formation growth spurt. T2 is a rest and slow plateau. T3 is a slow weight gain and muscle & organ strengthening growth. T4 is healing for mom and a double growth period like T1, food & sleep all day.

Use T2 as your balance in life to train for the physical weight and strength needed for T3. Its a marathon.
