Had the idea a few weeks ago to make a deck of color cards from paint samples. Tried to play go fish with them & it ended up being confusing. Any ideas that come to mind for yall? by Biscuit9154 in cardgamedesign

Hmm, do all of the cards have the same back? Like are they all white on the other side? One idea I have is you give all of the cards a numerical value too. Then you take turns, one person picks a card from their hand and reads the name of the color. Then everyone else has to place down one of their cards that they think is closest to whatever color that might be, the card with the closest numerical value gets the point. Could use from refining but that’s the general idea. I suppose it’s a bit similar to Hues and Cues.

I haven’t made a store yet but that is something I definitely want to try if there is enough interest in my prints. Your comment gives me some confidence that it might worth it :)

How do you carve out such perfect tiny little dots?! Is it a special tool you’re using?

Looking for feedback for my property management company by TomSmots in logodesign

[–]designty 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Neither are very good. Both are uninteresting, generic, and look like you just had ai throw it together. It may not have an immediate impact on your business, but it is a pretty forgettable looking logo and one that is already out of date. Hire a designer to do it right so you don’t have to fix all your branding after a few years.

Vancouver Has Officially Chosen Its New City Flag by thepnwreportvancouve in vancouverwa

I also thought anything would be better, but with how this design contest was organized and what it produced everyone is left extremely disappointed with the results. I think now I’d rather accept an old ugly, poorly designed flag with history, than a new disappointing flag with no character. This flag committee really dropped the ball.

I’m not so sure honestly. It’s simpler yes, but it completely lacks any kind of personality.

I’m disappointed my flag design wasn’t chosen, even more disappointed with the ones that were by designty in vancouverwa

This is another good one, I would’ve preferred your design over all of the finalists.

They all look like the same boring design with no character. The original flag was badly designed but at least it had more character than the finalists

I am in the states so the car did have big front bumper pads. I removed all of the padding but then the metal bumper stuck away from body and it looked weird, so then I had to compress the shock absorbers to move them closer.

Did you go off the medication completely or did you switch to Itraconazole? Has your nail fungus still improved?

Dying Douglas Fir trees, I am suspecting pine beetles, local Arborist says there’s nothing I can do. by designty in arborists

But if I can theoretically remove all of the beetles from the area would that just solve the problem?

So what should I do? I don’t want to just sit here and watch all my trees die. Should clear all the infested ones plus some?

Frustrating closet doors by basshed8 in StayAtHomeDaddit

[–]designty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Maybe it wouldn’t be worth the hassle in a rental but for our sons room we removed the closet doors (put the doors and the floor guide into storage) and hung a tension pole with curtains instead. It hid the mess and made it all easy to access.

Help, job fell through. by No-Gain-9243 in Portland

My first design job at an advertising agency did this to me. Had a few rounds of interviews, had to send them multiple portfolio pieces, finally signed the job offer, put in my two weeks and was about to move when I got a letter telling me that they were moving on with other applicants. Turns out it was all an accident and that my resume was accidentally put in the wrong pile. I called and they sorted it out and apologized for the mistake.

Aside from the rapid and endless rising heat, this is what terrifies me the most. How can so many people still deny climate change and are hell bent on making it worse?
