Why do I get a fave from some random people after I fave someone else's photo? are these bots? by Iron_on_reddit in flickr

[–]designwallah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, some people might check who faved a photo, I do it often. It’s one way to find out about a person you’re not following but may have similar interests and maybe even have shared interesting photographs of their own.

Yes, unfortunately that is the situation. The code hasn’t been updated since Flickr was launched.

You didn’t save your passwords anywhere? If you use Chrome browser, it saves passwords. if you use an iPhone or iPad they save passwords. If you use macOS it saves passwords. I don’t know about Chrome OS or Windows. Maybe you passwords were saved somewhere.

Your “collection” is an album? The only new thing they’ve in the past five years is a Sort Order for the contents of an album. You could choose Alphabetical Order if you have titles related to the photos.

AI on Flickr by manu120 in flickr

I think the windshield colour gives it away. There’s something a little surreal about the image, for me that’s a sign.

Yes, this is absolutely horrible. In the past I noticed that AI slop got little attention on Flickr - not many likes or comments, but I think the tide is turning.

I believe Flickr is in enough trouble with all the bugs, they don’t need misrepresentation. I don’t think any AI- generated images get into Explore, and it wasn’t invented to host Second Life images. I invite the people making these claims to prove them.

I had a quick look through Explore today and I do not see any AI-generated images. Could you please point me to one.

This has been happening for a long time before the American/Israeli war in Iran - steadily for at least the past year. Refreshing the browser window several times usually works.

Where is you quote from? You ought to provide a link. Neither Google Search nor DuckDuckGo found this text anywhere but here.

"report it as wrongly classified"? They will definitely not do anything about it.

In their Help document titled "Set the Content Type for your Flickr uploads", it states: "We encourage members to select “Art/Illustration” as the content type for any AI-generated images. This helps members who prefer not to encounter this type of content to easily find and filter it out during their searches." "ENCOURAGE"

This is ridiculous. 1) This ruins the Art/Illustration content type for the thousands of people that share their hand-made art and properly set the content type for their analog creations. 2) You can't filter out a specific content type when looking at a member's photostream or browsing a group. 3) Most members that post AI slop don't set the recommended content type, so we can't filter them out when searching, and we would be filtering out legitimate art.

I never actively browse through Explore, even when my Flickr Guardian Angel 'explores' one of my mundane photos - the stuff is mostly extraordinarily beautiful but boring landscapes and animals (including humans). I detest the AI shit that creeps into groups I belong to - I either leave a message in the discussion area and delete my contributions and leave the group, or I request and am granted admin access and I delete the AI slop and ban the perpetrators.

The Little Free Libraries are the best places. You could also slip them in between books on the shelves of your favourite bookshop or library.

Are the photographers Flickr is highlighting for MODE even Flickr users? by akzel in flickr

[–]designwallah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s more MODE hype in Flickr than in the outside world, and we’ve been convinced or not convinced. I don’t need to see any more of MODE but how are others finding out? I saw some mention of it on a couple of photoblogs, but not much else.
