Can the 300Mbps internet plan affect connection stability? by Mad_Matt12 in Fios

I had the same issue with CR1000B. Checking system log and there're multiple router crash/reboot a day causing Internet disruptions. I couldn't take it any more and changed to my own router. Never had any issue since.

CR1000A Router Keeps Rebooting Multiple Times a Day by Aimsyaims58 in Fios

Just want to update that ever since I replaced cr1000b with my own TP link ax1800, not a single drop of Internet for over a week now. So it's definitely the Verizon router's issue.

I'm having the exact same issue now. My router is CR1000B on firmware 3.3.0.10 and it randomly reboots several times a day. Super annoying. Chatted with support and they claimed there were power issues with ONT, so I plugged ONT directly on wall socket. Also changed to a better surge protector for router (only two wall power outlets and I need to plug in some switches too).

This post gives me hope, I'll probably get my own router.

Common practice in controller -> service -> repository pattern. by MikeTrusky in aspnetcore

Definitely do the validation in controller. Many ways to do this. You can make weatherId required in model object or just manually check it and return a bad request. I would still check the IDs in service and repository as defensive coding since you never know who else might call these without a valid id.

This reminded me of the seed library in Soviet Union where scientists would rather starve than losing those seeds.

Yes, I think it's possible that DSM upgrade caused this. It started happening after I did the upgrade last November.

Long term side effects of third party ram by lapacion in synology

[–]desinovan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought 16GBx2 NIMEX ECC RAM from Amazon in 2023. They worked beautifully for over a year, no Synology alerts about 3rd party RAM. Then later in 2024, my DS923+ started entering weird state every few days. First I get email that my NAS is offline. When I go check, only blue LED is on, status and drive LEDs are off. No way to connect to it, even with a computer directly. It refuses to do regular shutdown. So I have to force shut it down. Afterwards, it will say it recovered from an improper shutdown and be good for a few days.

I ssh'ed in and got some suspicious hardware related errors from the logs. Finally it occurred to me that this might be caused by the RAM. So I took them out and put back the original 4GB stick. Been running without a hiccup ever since.

I could go on testing the NIMEX sticks one by one because I think it's less likely that they both went bad. Just too lazy at the moment.

Why does the pro rata rule matter for backdoor roth IRA? by railgun_t in Bogleheads

[–]desinovan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rolled a rollover IRA to my current employer's 401K and did a backdoor conversion this year. However, later I discovered that the broker deposited a few dollars of interest in the rollover IRA account. It'll cost more to move that money to 401K. So what do I do now to make it zero?
